UNPRI MikroTik Academy: Building Industry-Ready Networking Skills for Students
Medan, September 19, 2026 — Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI), through its Faculty of Technology and Computer Science, continues to strengthen technology-based learning through the MikroTik Academy program. The initiative provides students with an opportunity to develop practical knowledge and skills in computer networking using technologies widely applied in professional network environments.
MikroTik Academy is an educational program developed in collaboration with MikroTik, a networking technology company based in Riga, Latvia. Through this program, networking concepts are introduced not only through classroom theory but also through practical laboratory activities using MikroTik RouterOS and RouterBOARD devices.
The program is designed to integrate the learning materials of the MikroTik Certified Network Associate (MTCNA) curriculum into academic activities. Students can therefore study fundamental networking concepts such as network configuration, IP addressing, routing, wireless networking, network management, and other essential competencies required to operate MikroTik-based network infrastructure.
A major emphasis of MikroTik Academy is hands-on learning. Students are able to practice network configuration directly in computer laboratories, providing an experience similar to professional MikroTik certification training. This approach allows students to connect theoretical concepts learned in class with real-world network implementation and troubleshooting.
Through its participation in the MikroTik Academy program, UNPRI provides additional opportunities for students, particularly those studying Informatics Engineering, Information Systems, and Electrical Engineering, to strengthen their competencies in computer networking while completing their academic studies.
Students participating in the program also have the opportunity to prepare for the MikroTik Certified Network Associate (MTCNA) certification. Internationally recognized professional certification can complement academic qualifications and provide additional evidence of technical competence when graduates enter the professional technology sector.
