UNPRI at the Forefront of Asia-Pacific Export-Import, Expanding Global Markets Through Strategic Partnerships
UNPRI's Export-Import Division Set to Ship Coffee Containers to Australia and New Zealand

Medan, July 25, 2026 — Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) continues to demonstrate its exceptional global competitiveness by aggressively expanding into international markets. Following a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing and a joint coffee export launch to the Philippines with PT Bintang Tiga Jaya on June 25, 2026, UNPRI’s Export-Import Division—established just four months ago—is now broadening its export operations for coffee and tea commodities across the Asia-Pacific region.

In the near future, the UNPRI Export-Import Division and PT Bintang Tiga Jaya will ship one container of coffee to Australia and another to New Zealand. This milestone was discussed during a courtesy visit by PT Bintang Tiga Jaya Founder and Trader from the Philippines, Anton Goonetilleke, to UNPRI’s main campus. Speaking in the 10th-floor meeting room, he praised UNPRI's unique initiative.
"Universitas Prima Indonesia is the only university with an Export-Import Division in North Sumatra—and indeed in Indonesia—that we have visited to strengthen our established partnership," stated Anton Goonetilleke.
The strategic visit was attended by Vice Rector III, Vice Rector IV, deans from all nine faculties at UNPRI, the Business Incubator representatives, and the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM).
Head of UNPRI's Export-Import Division, Dr. Ir. Deni Faisal Mirza, M.M., emphasized that building resilient, globally competitive entrepreneurs requires equipping students, alumni, and faculty with comprehensive insights into international trade. "From government export regulations, customs procedures, and trade financing to establishing foreign buyer networks, our academic community must master it all," he explained.
To realize this vision, the UNPRI Export-Import Division will host its inaugural Export-Import Training Program for beginner exporters. Open to students, alumni, faculty, startups, and SMEs across the UNPRI GROUP network spanning Medan, Riau, and Jambi, this intensive two-day training will take place on the 20th floor of the UNPRI campus in August 2026 and will be held bi-monthly to inspire a new generation of globally minded young entrepreneurs.
As an excellently accredited university and a pioneer with an international-standard export-import division, UNPRI is dedicated to facilitating academic talent to conquer global markets.
