DKPP CHAIRMAN GIVES PUBLIC LECTURE AT UNPRI
Unpri Has Great Potential to Advance and Develop
The Chairman of the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP) of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Jimly Asshiddiqie, SH, while giving a public lecture in front of students of the Faculty of Law (FH) of Universitas Prima Indonesia (Unpri), stated that Unpri has great potential to advance and develop. "In this case, I see it rationally, that with its good management, Unpri can develop and advance. With its new innovations too, the future of this university is very likely to develop," said the constitutional law expert convincingly, Monday (12/1) in the Multipurpose Room, 5th Floor, Royal Prima Hospital, Jalan Ayahanda Medan.
The public lecture was attended by the Chairman of the Advisory Board of Universitas Prima Indonesia, dr. I Nyoman Ehrich Lister, M.Kes., AIFM., Unpri Advisor Dr. RE Nainggolan, Unpri Chancellor Prof. Dr. Djakobus Tarigan, AAI., Vice Rector I Seno Aji, S.Pd., M.Eng., Prac., Vice Rector II Ermi Girsang, SKM., M.Kes, Dean of the Faculty of Law (FH) Unpri Dr. Tommy Leonard, S.H., M.Kn., Vice Dean of FE Unpri Hendry, S.E., M.M., and Coordinator of Global Prima School, Willy Tanjaya, S.H., S.Kom., M.Kn.
The former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) of the Republic of Indonesia also said that Unpri is in accordance with its name, namely Prima, which produces graduates who will also make Indonesia prime. In his public lecture in front of FH Unpri students, this Honorary Professor of Unpri explained about Ethical Courts and Constitutional Ethics.
According to him, it is time for us to introduce and promote the importance of ethical courts. By being called an ethical trial, it means that all principles that apply in the world of legal trials must also be applied in the field of ethics.
Jimly said that the relationship between law and ethics is in an external and internal position. He said that the law faculty must also teach about the ethical code system as its material ethical rules and its procedural system in the judicial process as its formal ethical rules, such as material law and formal law (procedural law) in the world of legal trials.
Meanwhile, the Dean of FH Unpri Dr. Tommy Leonard, S.H., M.Kn expressed his gratitude to Prof. Jimly who had agreed to become an Honorary Professor at Unpri. In this case, said Tommy, his party will prepare the infrastructure so that lectures can be conducted using a teleconference system.
Tommy hopes that this public lecture can provide great benefits for Unpri students, because of the presence of a legal expert who is already familiar to us, namely the first Former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court in our country.
