UNPRI Welcomes Japanese Delegation, Bridging Global Career Opportunities for Nurses and Midwives Through Caregiver Recruitment and Gakken E-Learning
Strengthens the Prima Migran Center to Prepare Professional Healthcare Workers for Japan
Medan, Tuesday, October 13, 2026 — Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) welcomed a strategic delegation from Japanese companies Gakken Medical Support Co. Ltd and Kaikoukai Healthcare Corporation at the Mini Hall on the 10th floor of the UNPRI Main Campus. The visit aimed to provide comprehensive information regarding career opportunities in Japan as caregivers and to introduce the Gakken E-Learning application to prospective Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI), particularly nursing and midwifery graduates.
The event was graced by key leaders, including UNPRI Vice Rector I Dr. Abdi Dharma, S.Kom., M.Kom., Kaikoukai Healthcare Corporation Representative Panji Aria Senapati, Gakken Medical Support Co. Ltd CEO Shimizu Osamu, Gakken Holdings Co., Ltd General Manager Kuroda Shusaku, PT Gunung Seribu Permata Director Zainal Abidin Nasution, alongside faculty members and students from the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery.
In his opening remarks, UNPRI Vice Rector I Dr. Abdi Dharma expressed great appreciation for the visit and highlighted the institution's readiness to support global workforce placement. He noted that UNPRI has established the **Prima Migran Center**, dedicated to facilitating, training, and guiding prospective Indonesian migrant workers aspiring to build international careers, alongside the ongoing development of P3MI facilities.
Echoing this, Panji Aria Senapati representing Kaikoukai Healthcare Corporation stated that their organization requires numerous professional caregivers to support patient care services in Japan. This tremendous opportunity is open to nurses and midwives who already hold a Registration Certificate (STR) and are eager to build careers in Japan as caregivers.
As a competency enhancement solution, Gakken Medical Support CEO Shimizu Osamu introduced the Gakken Healthcare E-Learning application. This digital platform offers interactive learning videos on fundamental caregiving skills equipped with Japanese, English, and Indonesian subtitles. Furthermore, the application provides practice test modules designed to assist users in preparing for the *Specified Skilled Worker* (SSW) certification examination, enabling prospective PMIs to study flexibly anytime and anywhere.
The visit concluded with a campus tour, where the Japanese delegates explored UNPRI's state-of-the-art facilities, including the Prima Migran Center room, the library, and the Universitas Prima Indonesia Mall.
