Nanjing University-UNPRI Medan Establish Cooperation

The Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) Medan team won the inter-university basketball competition in Medan City, which was held by the HKBP Nomensen University Basketball UKM on March 24 to April 5, 2017.

The UNPRI Medan basketball team led by Jenny Kirawan managed to become the champion after defeating the defending champion Eka Prasetya with a score of 40-37.

In the previous match, the UNPRI basketball team managed to advance with a 100 percent victory after becoming the pool champion when facing STMIK Mikroskil and the host (HKBP Nomensen University), and defeating Medan Polytechnic in the semi-final match which took place one day before the final match took place.

The UNPRI team, which was driven by young players who managed to dominate the championship, were Harianto (Team Captain) a student of the Faculty of Economics, Arditya a student of the Faculty of Agro Technology, Wilson Panggadewa a student of the Faculty of Economics, Jeffry a student of the Faculty of Economics, Jeswan Yaputra a student of the Faculty of Economics, Kalvin a student of the Faculty of Law, Yoko a student of the Faculty of Law, Alfan Iskandar a student of the Faculty of Economics, Jimmy Davey a student of the Faculty of Economics, Ricky Sitepu a student of the Faculty of Technology and Computer Science, Eric a student of the Faculty of Economics and Muhd ​​Faui Akbar a student of the Faculty of Law.

Responding to the success of the UNPRI basketball team, the Head of BPH UNPRI Dr. Tommy Leonard SH MKn expressed his pride.

"I hope this encouraging result will ignite our men's basketball team, to continue to succeed in the competitions that will be followed in the future, and most importantly make our alma mater continue to shine," said Tommy Leonard to reporters, Friday (4/14).

According to this young doctor, with disciplined training can produce brilliant achievements and these achievements must continue to be improved to the national and even international level, not limited to competitions between universities in the city of Medan.

This North Sumatra education figure hopes that the UNPRI basketball team will remain focused and strive to achieve better achievements in the future, and maintain the name of the alma mater.

Meanwhile, UNPRI Basketball Team Manager Randy Raharja, expressed joy over the victory of the UNPRI basketball team.

"The key to the success of winning this inter-university basketball competition in Medan City is because of patient play and not being provoked by the opponent's game," said Randy.

Randy saw that the UNPRI basketball team played fairly, the players showed their best abilities, and the enthusiasm of the team's supporters was also very high.

Randy also said that by participating in the competition, many positive things were obtained. In addition to gaining experience, the team also gained a lot of knowledge.
