Students and Pupils Enthusiastically Participate in Entrepreneur Day 2017 Faculty of Economics UNPRI
Dozens of owned stands Students and pupils in the city of Medan and its surroundings enlivened the Entrepreneur Day held by the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) Medan, which was held at Focal Point for two days, Saturday and Sunday (22 and 23 April 2017).
The event was attended by members of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission X, Dr. Sofyan Tan, Founder of UNPRI Dr. dr. I Nyoman E. Lister MKes AIFM, Head of BPH UNPRI Dr. Tommy Leoard SH MKn, Advisor to UNPRI Dr. Sofyan Wijaya MHA, Dean of FE UNPRI Cut Fitri Rostina SE MM, Vice Dean of FE UNPRI Hendry SE MM, rectorate, dean, head of study program, lecturers and staff of FE UNPRI and representatives of all stands.
Students and pupils were very enthusiastic about participating the event, even students of SMAN 1 Labuhan Deli bought 4 stands.
Students and students displayed various products and their works. SMA Sutomo 1 Medan for example made a very creative Ice Cream with 4 variants. Although still students, Carlson and Christopher in the 2nd grade of high school already understand the concept of business." Ice Cream products depend on the season. Then we create various variants, and so that buyers don't get bored, we continue to make breakthroughs to create new variants that have not been made by others," said Christopher.
According to him , they both learned from the internet to make creative Ice Cream. They both have participated in three exhibitions or entrepreneurship festivals. They both have even made a permanent place to sell Ice Cream in front of their school.
Different from students of SMAN 1 Labuhan Deli. They produce unique donuts, which they call Galaxy Donuts. Nabila Salma, Shaliwa Tari and Rindi Atika learned from their mothers. "We want to learn how to start a business, maintain a business if the market is interested, or change the type of business if the market is not interested," said Nabila.
Meanwhile, students of the Faculty of Economics, UPRI Semester 6 B afternoon, presenting Chadelion Tea. They learn to mix unique tea that is different from the others. Although it was their first time participating in an entrepreneurship festival, thanks to the collaboration of Vivi, Edo, Christian and Darwan, they were able to attract the attention of visitors, especially since the sun was hot and visitors wanted to try the uniquely flavored tea.
Asked about the cost of participating in the entrepreneurship festival, Edo said it was Rp600,000 for two days. "We chipped in, we wanted to practice how to actually do business in the real world, we wanted to know what kind of effort is needed to produce something and sell it," said Vivi. /p>
In fact, Vivi is very enthusiastic about opening a business in the future, especially after completing her studies at the Management Department, Faculty of Economics, UNPRI Medan.
"I want to run a business seriously later , this is the first time, but the aroma of business can already be smelled," he said enthusiastically.
Previously, member of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission X, Dr. Sofyan Tan, supported and welcomed the entrepreneurship festival positively. held by the Faculty of Economics UNPRI.
"This is the second time I have participated in the entrepreneurship festival at FE-UNPRI> The first was held on campus, this is the second time it has been held at a mall, which means there has been an improvement. In the future, make a better place which is even better, so continue to move up the class," he said.
According to him, being an entrepreneur is not easy, being a businessman is not easy, but business is not taboo for students and college students. "America is advanced because of ideals -the students' ambition is to become entrepreneurs. In Indonesia, the ambition is to become civil servants. So it is difficult for Indonesia to progress," he said.
He gave tips on becoming a reliable entrepreneur. First, you must be able to read market opportunities . We must be able to read market needs, not only current needs, but also future market needs, that means business is not just following the crowd.
Second, create a strategy. According to him, we must try to make the product eye-catching, so that people are tempted to come. He gave examples of several products with certain brands that create eye-catching strategies. Third, it takes capital. In order to get a loan from a bank, according to him, the character of the person who wants to borrow must also be good. People who want to borrow from a bank must show the business concept and mission of the business that will be run .
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Entrepreneurship Festival Cut Fitri Rostina SE MM, who is also the Dean of FE-UNPRI, reported on the implementation of the exhibition.
"Through this activity, we are trying to increase the knowledge and understanding of high school and vocational high school students about business, how to be creative, how to start a business, how to motivate them to open a business, so that they can open up employment opportunities in the future," said Cut Fitri.
In a separate place, UNPRI Founder Dr. dr. I Nyoman E.Lister MKes AIFM told reporters on Sunday (23/4) that he strongly supports the activities held by FE UNPRI.
According to this education figure, the Implementation of the Entrepreneurship Festival can help develop the mindset of students and college students from an early age.
"Entrepreneurship for students and college students is expected to be able to become pioneers of development, and can reduce unemployment," said Dr. I Nyoman who recently received a Doctorate from Andalas University Padang.
Dr Nyoman is confident that FE UNPRI is able to produce and develop new young entrepreneurs with higher education. (
