NMU-UNPRI-ROYAL PRIMA Hospital Establish Cooperation
Chinese Consul Proud of Increasingly Modern Relations Between the Two Countries
Nanjing Medical University (NMU) China has established cooperation with Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) and Royal Prima Hospital in the field of health sciences. The signing of the cooperation was attended and witnessed by the Chinese Consul in Medan, Mr. Sun Ang, in the multipurpose room of Royal Prima Hospital, Jl. Ayahanda Medan, Thursday, July 27, 2017.
The visit and cooperation were attended by Nanjing Medical University delegations including Mr. Wang Lin (Vice President of NMU), Mr. Huan Hua (Vice Director of Academic Affairs), Ms Gan Weihua (Vice Dean of the second affiliated hospital of NMU), Ms Li Ming (Vice Dean of School of International Education).
Also present at the event were representatives from the Medan City Health Office, representatives of Kopertis Region 1 North Sumatra, Founder of Royal Prima Hospital and Universitas Prima Indonesia, Dr. dr. I Nyoman Ehrich Lister, Mr. A.U. Liongo and Mrs. Ng Lin Sioe, Head of BPH UNPRI Dr. Tommy Leonard, SH, M.Kn, Director of Royal Prima Hospital, dr. Ali Napiah, Vice Rector 1 UNPRI, Seno Aji, SPd, M.Eng Prac, Vice Rector 2 Dr. Ermi Girsang, Secretary of the University, Dr. Chrismis Novalinda, Head of the Unpri Cooperation Bureau Teng Sauh Hwee, M.Si, doctors and other deans.
The signing of the cooperation carried out by Mr. Wang Lin (Vice President of NMU) and Director of Royal Prima Hospital, dr. Ali Napiah was a continuation of the development of the MoU between UNPRI and NMU which had previously been implemented in Nanjing.
"This is the realization of cooperation between UNPRI, Royal Prima Hospital and Nanjing Medical University. With the signing of the MoU between Royal Prima Hospital and Nanjing Medical University, Royal Prima Hospital becomes the first hospital outside China to collaborate with Nanjing Medical University in terms of education, especially in the health sector," said the Founder of Universitas Prima Indonesia Dr. dr. I Nyoman Ehrich Lister, MKes, AIFM.
Meanwhile, the NMU delegation represented by Mr. Wang Lin said that this is not only a historical milestone for Universitas Prima Indonesia and Royal Prima Hospital as well as Nanjing Medical University, but also a moment of friendship between Indonesia and China.
According to him, UNPRI and Royal Prima Hospital have great strength to develop so that Nanjing Medical University chose UNPRI and Royal Prima Hospital with the principle of mutual learning, complementing each other and working together.
On that occasion, Mr. Wang Lin also explained that currently, Nanjing Medical University is developing rapidly. On July 5, the Asia Pacific Higher Education Committee (Times Higher Education) announced that of the 13 countries with famous higher education with a total of 243 universities, Nanjing Medical University is ranked 111-120.
Nanjing Medical University is ranked 23rd out of a total of 52 top universities in China. In Jiangsu Province, Nanjing Medical University is ranked 4th out of 9 leading universities. Meanwhile, in Times Higher Education, universities that carry out medical or medical development, by looking at teaching methods, research, journals, levels of internationalization and innovation, only two universities were selected and Nanjing Medical University was ranked first.
He also explained that since 2004, Nanjing Medical University has been developing in accepting foreign students, to date 1,342 foreign students have registered, including 50 students from Indonesia.
On that occasion, the Chinese State Consul in Medan, Mr. Sun Ang, in his speech said that he was proud and happy with this collaboration.
According to him, in the era of President Joko Widodo and President Xi Jinping, cooperation between China and Indonesia has improved and become closer in all aspects. As a real form is the seriousness of UNPRI and RS Royal Prima in improving the quality of education and health in North Sumatra.
Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor 1 of UNPRI, Seno Aji, SPd, M.Eng Prac, in his speech hoped that with the signing of the MOU, this cooperation could be implemented immediately with full commitment between the two parties.
Seno Aji said that UNPRI is one of the universities that is growing and developing rapidly in North Sumatra. UNPRI continues to build qualified facilities and infrastructure to support its growth.
"The existence of UNPRI is very promising to grow as one of the best universities in North Sumatra and in Indonesia in the coming years. In its growth, UNPRI focuses on various fields, especially improving quality, services and quality in the field of health sciences," he said.
