MINISTER OF RESEARCH, TECHNOLOGY AND HIGHER EDUCATION IS PROUD AND OPTIMISTIC ABOUT UNPRI BECOMING THE BEST PTS IN NORTH SUMATERA
Laying the First Stone of Campus V Universitas Prima Indonesia
Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Menristekdikti) Prof. H. Mohamad Nasir, Ph.D., Ak. said that Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) is extraordinary, because it is able to build a magnificent building with complete facilities and infrastructure.
And, Menristekdikti is confident and optimistic that UNPRI will develop faster, with complete facilities and infrastructure.
The Minister hopes that the construction of the building will run smoothly and be completed in a faster time, so that it can be enjoyed by all UNPRI students.
"Building a magnificent university building in Medan City is extraordinary. Moreover, UNPRI is still relatively young, only 16 years old, capable of becoming a major university in North Sumatra," said the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education in his speech shortly before laying the first stone for the construction of UNPRI Campus V, located on Jalan Sampul Medan, Saturday, August 26, 2017.
Present at the event were the Director General of Learning and Student Affairs of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Prof. Intan Ahmad, Ph.D., Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives dr. Sofyan Tan, Mayor of Medan Drs. H. T. Dzulmi Eldin S, M.Si, Coordinator of Kopertis Region I North Sumatra, Prof. Dian Armanto, MSc, MA, PhD, Rector of the University of North Sumatra (USU) Prof. Dr. Runtung Sitepu SH, MHum, Founder of UNPRI Dr. dr. I Nyoman Ehrich Lister, MKes, AIFM, Head of the Daily Executive Board (BPH) of UNPRI, Dr. Tommy Leonard, SH, MKn, Acting Rector of UNPRI Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, SSit, MKes, Advisor to the Postgraduate Program of UNPRI who is also a Member of the Commission of the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP) of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Teguh Prasetyo, SH, MS, Head of the Postgraduate Notary Masters Study Program (MKn) of UNPRI and also Head of the Center for Research and Development of Law and Judicial Training of the Supreme Court (MA), Dr. Basuki Rekso Wibowo, SH, MS, Head of the Postgraduate Law Masters Study Program of UNPRI, Dr. Lilik Mulyadi, SH, MH.

The Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education expressed his admiration, UNPRI which was only established in 2001 has become a large university in North Sumatra and is a healthy and good university.
The Minister then congratulated UNPRI, because on average its study programs have been accredited B, including the Faculty of Medicine (FK) and the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG).
"Thus, UNPRI is now the mainstay for producing quality human resources to strengthen the nation's competitiveness," said the Professor of Diponegoro University (Undip) Semarang.
He revealed that Indonesia is currently in an era of great competition, namely competing towards quality.
He admitted that UNPRI, which was founded in 2001, is still very young. If school children are still in junior high school. "But it turns out that at the age of 16, UNPRI has succeeded in growing public trust and building quality study programs that are on average B. This is an extraordinary struggle by Unpri," said Nasir.
The Minister hopes that UNPRI's sustainability will be even better. What is very important is maintaining harmony between the foundation and the rector, between the foundation and lecturers, and between lecturers and students. This is so that UNPRI becomes a healthy and great university.
"Because, the mainstay of a quality university is on the owner or foundation and the rectorate management. This must be united and work together to educate students to be quality," said the minister.
The Minister also reminded the academic community of UNPRI to be proud of UNPRI. "Lecturers must be proud to be educators at UNPRI. Likewise, students must be proud to study at UNPRI. With that pride, UNPRI will be glorious. If there are lecturers or students who are not proud of their alma mater, it will lower the reputation of this university," said the modest-looking minister.
On that occasion, the minister revealed that on August 17, 2017, the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education had launched the ranking of the best universities in Indonesia.
"I believe that if the new building is completed, UNPRI's level will increase again in i 2018”, said the former Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Undip.
Nasir said, what UNPRI did was no longer a dream, because in a period of 16 years it had succeeded in building a large university in North Sumatra. He was sure, at the age of 20-25 years, Unpri students would number over 15 thousand. “And, all of that can be done as long as the foundation, rector and students work hard”, he said.
In addition, the minister said, togetherness between lecturers and students is important. In this case, ethnic, tribal and religious differences should not become a problem and hinder progress.
“UNPRI must be one in order to be able to compete at the world university level”, he said.
Previously, the Acting Rector of UNPRI, Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, SSit, MKes, reported, UNPRI which was founded by Dr. dr. I Nyoman Ehrich Lister, MKes, AIFM, one of the universities that is developing rapidly at a relatively young age. Currently UNPRI has 10 faculties, 25 study programs (prodi), and a postgraduate school with seven study programs.
"Students who are studying at UNPRI MEDAN are spread across four campuses in Medan City. The foundation also provides education starting from kindergarten, elementary school, junior high school and high school at Sekolah Global Prima," said the rector.
In order to support UNPRI's facilities and infrastructure better in the future, said Chrismis, a magnificent campus V was built on Jalan Sampul Medan.
It is hoped that this new building can provide the best facilities to support all activities, both academic and non-academic, of UNPRI students.
This white-skinned woman also said that Royal Prima Hospital (RS) which is located not far from the location of Campus V, has been recommended by the North Sumatra Health Office to become the main teaching hospital for students of the Faculty of Medicine, UNPRI.
After delivering his welcoming speech, the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education immediately laid the first stone for the construction of Campus V UNPRI on Jalan Sampul Medan.
The Minister also signed the inscription for the construction of the magnificent building.
