On the same occasion, the Mayor also expressed his appreciation for the implementation of the 2019 BKGN. According to him, BKGN is the right means and forum to educate the Indonesian people, especially the City of Medan, to consistently maintain and care for dental and oral hygiene. Moreover, the Mayor said, BKGN is in line with government policies and focuses in the health sector.

He said, as stated in Law No. 36/2009 concerning Health, it is stated that dental and oral health is carried out to maintain and improve the degree of dental health in the form of prevention, treatment and restoration of dental health. For that reason, efforts to fulfill the community's need for dental health services must be carried out more intensively through promotive and preventive efforts so that the community can know about it widely and openly.

Separately, UNPRI Chancellor Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, SSiT., M.Kes said that the event with the theme "Smile Heroes" was very positive and beneficial for the community.

"In this BKGN commemoration, the community will be served for free dental check-ups. We hope that within three days thousands of patients who experience dental and oral health problems can be served," said Crismis.

The same thing was also conveyed by Deputy Dean I of FKG UNPRI, drg. Melissa Sim, Mkes and Head of the S-1 Dentistry Education Study Program, FKG UNPRI Dr.drg. Florenly, MHSM, MPH, C.OFI FICCDE that the commemoration of BKGN can be a momentum to grow and develop and increase public awareness and understanding to always maintain dental and oral hygiene, as an effort to prevent health problems.

Dr. Florenly added, BKGN which lasted for 3 days from 19-21 September, was filled with various activities including, counseling, examination, treatment in the form of filling cavities and free tooth extraction.

In a separate place to reporters, UNPRI Founder Dr. dr. I Nyoman Ehrich Lister MKes AIFM accompanied by UNPRI BPH Chairman Dr. Tommy Leonard SH MKn said, dental problems are a serious problem in Indonesia. As is known, almost all children in Indonesia experience dental health problems.

According to Dr. I Nyoman, this dental health problem is not only in children, many adults also complain about dental health, such as cavities, toothache, gums and so on.

That is why, said Dr. Nyoman, children must be taught from an early age how to brush their teeth properly. Without providing knowledge of the right and proper way to brush teeth.

So far, Dr. Nyoman assesses that one of the causes of this dental problem is the lack of public awareness. "Wrong public habits related to brushing teeth are also the main cause," said Dr. Nyoman again.

In this case, Dr. Nyoman appreciates the steps taken by FKG UNPRI. According to him, such activities must be carried out intensively to overcome dental problems in the community.
