Unpri Industrial Engineering Successfully Holds Japan's 5S Webinar
The Faculty of Technology and Computer Science (FTIK) Universitas Prima Indonesia (Unpri) continues to innovate to support the creativity of its students.
This time the Industrial Engineering (TI) Study Program, FTIK, held a virtual webinar with the theme "Japan's 5S: The Way to Success", Saturday (12/19/2020).
The first webinar activity of the Industrial Engineering Program was opened by the Dean of IT FTIK Unpri Mardi Turnip SKom MKom. Appearing as speakers were practitioners and trainers in the fields of logistics and manufacturing related to 5S.
The Dean of IT FTIK Unpri Mardi Turnip SKom MKom, in his remarks said that this Webinar explained the 5S application adopted from Japan for better and more sustainable workplace arrangements. This theme was raised in connection with its widespread use by companies in the world in order to improve sustainable performance.
Uniquely, said the dean, this method can also be used by the general public. This webinar was attended by 250 participants from all over Indonesia consisting of lecturers, students, entrepreneurs, to students and the general public.
In this webinar, the committee is a combination of lecturers and students with the Chair of the Steering Committee from the Head of the Industrial Engineering Study Program Anita Christine Sembiring, ST MT and the Chair of the Organizing from student Anthony.
The first speaker, Kamaluddin, a practitioner and trainer in the field of 5S who became one of the speakers, in his paper explained the theory and application of 5S in the manufacturing sector. Kamaluddin has also received direct 5S training from. He is also active in various trainings and has professional certificates in the fields of Contractor Safety Management and Energy Management.
In addition to the first speaker who is a 5S practitioner in the manufacturing sector, the second speaker William explained the application and tips regarding the application of 5S in the logistics sector, especially in warehousing.
Based on the evaluation conducted by the committee, the average participant gave a very good response. It is from the answers so that it can be held again more often, the time is longer, at different time options, interactive, and the speakers can be added. This is a very special appreciation for the entire webinar committee.
The Chairperson of the Steering Committee Anita Christine Sembiring ST MT hopes that with this webinar activity, students will become more confident in holding a webinar attended by participants from all over Indonesia. In addition, this activity can also provide an understanding to the general public about the 5S application which is quite simple for better and more sustainable workplace arrangements in each participant.
