Ministry of Education and Culture Language Agency Collaborates with Universitas Prima Indonesia
Prima Indonesia University has officially collaborated with the Language Development and Fostering Agency of the Ministry of Education and Culture since December last year. As a form of implementation of this collaboration, on Tuesday, 23/2/2021, a meeting and friendly gathering was held between Prima Indonesia University and the Language Development and Fostering Agency.
The friendly gathering took place warmly, attended by the Vice Chancellor IV of Prima Indonesia University, Dr. dr. Ali Napiah Nst, M.KT., M.KM., Head of the Language Development and Fostering Agency, Prof. E. Aminudin Aziz, M. A., Ph.D., Head of the North Sumatra Language Center, Dr. Maryanto, M.Hum., Head of the Kendari Language Center, and several BBSU staff.
Through the Vice Rector IV, Dr. dr. Ali Napiah Nst, M.KT., M.KM., it was conveyed that Universitas Prima Indonesia, as the only university visited by the Head of the Language Agency, was very enthusiastic and fully supported the implementation of cooperation between the two parties. The enthusiasm was welcomed by Prof. E. Aminudin Aziz, M.A., Ph.D., who also fully supported Universitas Prima Indonesia to improve the language skills of all students and academics through cooperation with the Language Development and Fostering Agency of the Ministry of Education and Culture. He emphasized three principles of cooperation that are expected to be built, namely; 1. Equality, 2. Mutual respect, and 3. Mutual benefit.
This established cooperation certainly has great potential for developing student competencies, especially with the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka curriculum. Not only for students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, but all students from all study programs at Universitas Prima Indonesia. Some activities that can be carried out together include: internships, preservation of regional languages and literature, language coaching and development, mobilization of language students to broaden their horizons and improve their competencies, and implementation of the Independent Adaptive UKBI which is equivalent to IELTS/TOEFL.
A follow-up to the memorandum of understanding will be the birth of a Cooperation Agreement (Memorandum of Agreement) between FKIP UNPRI and the Language Agency of the Ministry of Education and Culture, the draft of the cooperation agreement is currently being finalized at the Language Agency, as conveyed by the Dean of FKIP, Dian Syahfitri, S.S., M.Hum. A number of strategic plans related to the development of student competencies in the field of language have been discussed. Hopefully it can be realized optimally.
