Celebrating Valentine's Day, UNPRI Students Together with Ria Gurning Share Chocolate Love
Evidence of UNPRI's Concern for the Community
The student community from Samosir who are members of the Samosir Student Family (PKMS) of Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI), celebrated Valentine's Day in a unique and noble way.
The Samosir Student Family (PKMS) of Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) was seen, accompanied by Ria Gurning, who is a Samosir Social and Cultural Activist, together distributing parcels and chocolates to elementary school children at SD 5 Lumban Pinggol, Pangururan District, Samosir Regency on Tuesday, (14/02/2023).
"All little brothers and sisters, Happy Valentine's Day for all of us, a day of love for our fellow human beings and our parents together," said the Chairperson of PKMS UNPRI, Amelia Gurning. She explained that Valentine's Day is a momentum for us to continue to show our respect to our parents, teachers and fellow human beings, especially friends at school.
"It's not because of Valentine's Day that we love, but every day we must love our fellow human beings, all of you," taught Amelia Gurning, which was greeted with shouts of joy from the students of SDN 5 Lumban Pinggol.
The students were seen distributing packages to 85 students at SDN 5 Lumban Pinggol and providing motivation for goodness to these students.
Meanwhile, Ria Gurning expressed her high appreciation for the concern of the younger students for others.
"Yesterday we talked with younger students in Medan, I encouraged these younger students to give blessings from their shortcomings to these elementary school students so that they can be role models for them in the future," explained Ria Gurning. Ria Gurning also shared special gifts with the principal and teachers as a sign of love for the kindness of the teachers in educating the young generation of the nation.
Meanwhile, the Principal of SDN 5 Lumban Pinggol Flora Sitanggang, SPd expressed her appreciation for the visit of the students and Ria Gurning to 85 students in her educational environment. "We really miss activities like this from parties who care about our children, especially from students as the next generation of the nation," explained Flora.
She hopes that many more parties will show their concern for the students while providing a spirit of goodness to the students in Samosir.
In addition to distributing gifts and chocolates to elementary school children at SD 5 Lumban Pinggol, in order to commemorate Press Day, the Warkop Jurnalis Samosir Community and the Samosir Student Family Association (PKMS) of Universitas Prima Indonesia also carried out a Social Action by sharing free lunches to the Abang Becak at Simpang 4 HKBP Bolon, Pangururan City, Samosir Regency on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. Journalists and students felt called to care and share with marginalized workers, especially Abang Becak on Press Day and Valentine's Day.
Separately, the Chairperson of PKMS UNPRI Medan Amelia Gurning expressed her appreciation to journalists in Samosir who care so much about the marginalized people in Samosir. "Earlier we were invited by Warkop Jurnalis Samosir after sharing Valentine's gifts to students of SDN 5 Lumbanpinggol to accompany this social activity, hopefully it will be useful and as the young generation of Samosir we are ready to provide services for humanity in Samosir," said Amelia Gurning.
Meanwhile, one of the Abang Becak Lisbon Pandapotan Simbolon admitted that he was surprised to receive free lunch and drinks from journalists and UNPRI Medan students.
"We were very surprised earlier, thank you for this gift, hopefully the Samosir journalists and UNPRI students from Samosir will be blessed by God and all their tasks and dreams will go smoothly," said Lisbon Simbolon.
Present at the event were Warkop Jurnalis journalists, namely Sartono Sihotang, Andrey Siregar, Suntama Simbolon, Marlen Simbolon, Pandang Simbolon, Henri Tua Sihombing, Sumper Siregar, Jadi Amat Simbolon.
Also present were UNPRI students who accompanied by Social Activists Ria Gurning namely Sevania Sagala, Kristina Limbong, Anggi D Naibaho, Bintang Nadeak, Abdi Nadeak, Fidel Sitanggang, Joyhakim Simarmata, Mei Parhusip, Rolasta Sitanggang, Kornel Purba, Fransisca Nainggolan, Teaci Simbolon, Nofrianti Limbong, Friski Naibaho and Raja Inan Simanjorang.
