Optimization of Tridharma of Higher Education: UNPRI Inaugurates Library
Library Inauguration and Public Lecture
Libraries and literacy are two things that are closely related and cannot be separated in efforts to support universities to realize the Tridharma of Higher Education, namely education and teaching, research and community service. Conceptually, digital libraries reflect library collections and services in physical form. Digital libraries are analogous to traditional libraries in terms of the diversity and complexity of their collections, their contents are in the form of electronic media, and are stored in a form that is commonly seen. The purpose of digital library research and development is to produce research paradigms and products that serve users with information needs with increasingly broader expectations.
As a real form of commitment from Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) in preparing facilities and infrastructure to support the Tridharma of Higher Education, UNPRI inaugurated the Library located on the 11th Floor, Main Building of the Sampul UNPRI Campus, Jalan Sampul 4, Medan City.
In the inauguration of the UNPRI library, a public lecture was also held with the theme "Optimizing the Role of Innovative and Adaptive Libraries in the Digital Era" by presenting speakers Dr. Adin Bondar, S.Sos., M.Si (Deputy for Library Resource Development, National Library of the Republic of Indonesia). The public lecture was moderated by Sundari, S.Sos., M.Si. (Deputy Head of Library of University of North Sumatra)
The parties who attended the inauguration of the library and public lecture were: Dwi Endah Purwanti, S.S., M.Si (Head of Library and Archives Office of North Sumatra Province), Dr. Adian, S.Pd., M.M (Head of Library & Archives Office of Medan City), Laila Hadri Nasution S, Sos., M.P, Chairperson of FPPTI (Indonesian Higher Education Library Forum) of North Sumatra Region and Tessa Simahate, S.Sos, M.I.Kom (Head of Library of Medan State University) and Students from USU, UINSU and Sari Mutiara University.
While representatives of the Rectorate and Board of Directors of UNPRI were attended by: Rector of Universitas Prima Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M. Kes, represented by the Vice Rector 1 for Academic Affairs of UNPRI, Abdi Dharma, S.Kom.,M.Kom, Vice Rector 3 for Student Affairs of UNPRI, Said Rizal, S.HI.,M.A, Representatives of Heads of Institutions, Bureaus and Deans in UNPRI, All Head Librarians of UNPRI and Librarians of Universities, and the academic community of UNPRI.
