Industrial Engineering Students from FAST-UNPRI's Favorite Campus Intern at the North Sumatra Education Quality Assurance Center (BPMP), Sharpening Quality Management Competencies

UNPRI, Medan – Six students from the Industrial Engineering Program of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FAST), Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI), are participating in an internship program at the Education Quality Assurance Agency (BPMP) of North Sumatra from May 12 to October 12, 2025. This program is part of a collaborative initiative between UNPRI and BPMP North Sumatra aimed at enhancing students’ competencies through experiential learning in a government institution.
The internship program provides students with first-hand experience in implementing quality management systems and control mechanisms within educational institutions, while also developing their analytical skills in data systems and quality monitoring. The students actively participate in various BPMP activities, including educational quality monitoring and evaluation, preparation of quality control reports, and documentation of educational standards. Through these activities, students gain practical understanding of internal audit processes and learn to apply principles of quality management in the public sector.
The program was officially opened by Tajuddin Idris, S.Si., M.T., Head of BPMP North Sumatra, and has been featured on BPMP Medan’s official website. In his speech, Tajuddin expressed appreciation for the collaboration between UNPRI and BPMP, highlighting it as an important step toward strengthening the synergy between higher education and the national education quality assurance system.

BPMP North Sumatra is a technical implementing unit under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, with a strategic role in maintaining and improving education quality in the region. Its partnership with UNPRI reflects a strong synergy between government and academia in developing competent, competitive human resources.
Dr. Anita Christine Sembiring, S.T., M.T., Head of the Industrial Engineering Program at UNPRI, explained that this internship is a direct implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two institutions. “With its ‘Very Good’ accreditation, UNPRI’s Industrial Engineering Program is committed to producing graduates who are not only academically excellent but also ready to face the challenges of the industrial and governmental sectors. This internship provides students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills acquired since the early semesters,” she stated.
The Bachelor of Industrial Engineering Program at UNPRI is one of seven flagship programs under the Faculty of Science and Technology (FAST), alongside Electrical Engineering, Informatics, Information Systems, Visual Communication Design, Architecture, and Civil Engineering, under the leadership of Prof. Ir.
