UNPRI, Medan – The figure of a young doctor as well as a successful entrepreneur in the beauty industry, Dr. Oky Pratama, once again captured public attention. The founder of Bening’s Indonesia Group, a well-known skincare brand with millions of customers across the country, officially earned his Master of Biomedical Science (M.Biomed) degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences (FKKGIK) at Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI). This special moment took place during the UNPRI Open Senate Session for the Graduation Ceremony of Diploma, Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral Programs for Period IV of 2025, on Thursday (05/08/2025), held grandly in the Main Hall of UNPRI Campus, 10th floor, Jalan Sampul No. 3 Medan Petisah.

In the graduation ceremony attended by thousands of invited guests, lecturers, and families of graduates, Dr. Oky Pratama was entrusted to lead the Tri Marga Higher Education Oath on behalf of all graduates. The moment immediately drew admiration from graduates and attendees. Many did not expect that this national public figure and prominent beauty industry entrepreneur was a student of the UNPRI Master of Biomedical Science Program. His calm and authoritative presence at the podium became a major highlight and added pride for the UNPRI academic community.

During his studies in UNPRI’s Master of Biomedical Science Program, Dr. Oky Pratama chose the Anti-Aging Medicine concentration, a field highly relevant to his work as an entrepreneur in aesthetics and skincare. He admitted to learning extensively about cell biology, biochemistry, genetics, immunology, and research technologies such as PCR and Western Blot, which broadened his understanding of aging processes at the molecular level. “I am proud to study at UNPRI, a campus that not only excels academically but also supports the spirit of socio-technopreneurship for entrepreneurial-minded students. “The Master of Biomedical Science Program is designed to bridge scientific research and its applications in health innovation, with a curriculum that integrates theory, laboratory practice, and applied research. Students are prepared to become researchers, academics, laboratory analysts, and developers of health and pharmaceutical products. FKKGIK UNPRI now oversees 20 study programs including Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Apothecary Profession, and Health Sciences from bachelor to master and doctoral levels,” explained Program Head Prof. Dr. Ermi Girsang, M.Kes., M.Biomed., AIFO.

In addition to the Master of Science and Biomedical Science programs, there are other excellent medical master's programs such as the Master of Tropical Medicine, Master of Dental Medicine, Master of Clinical Medicine, Master of Nursing, and Master of Public Health, which are also available at UNPRI’s PSDKU campus in Pekanbaru City, Riau. Therefore, it is no surprise that UNPRI holds the title as the private university with the largest number of medical master’s programs in Indonesia, as well as a private university with Specialist Medical Education Programs (PPDS) supported by seven owned teaching hospitals serving as centers for clinical practice, research, and scientific studies—six located in North Sumatra Province and one in Jambi Province.

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences at UNPRI, Prof. Dr. dr. H. Gusbakti Rusip, M.Sc., Sp.KKLP., Subsp.FOMC(K)., PKK., AIFM., AIFO-K, expressed his appreciation for the achievements and dedication of Dr. Oky Pratama, who is considered an inspiration for other students. “He is a real example that knowledge knows no professional boundaries.
