Winning First Place Competition: UNPRI Visual Communication Design Student Katlyn Limada Ready For Nationals
Visual Communication Design Student Wins Ready For National Competition
Medan, October 28, 2026 — Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) is once again celebrating a proud student achievement. Katlyn Limada, a 3rd-semester student of the Visual Communication Design Study Program, triumphed as the 1st Place winner in the prestigious Colour4Life Competition 2026 hosted by Faber-Castell at the UNPRI campus on Wednesday (Oct 28, 2026). This remarkable victory earns Katlyn the privilege to advance to the national-level competition.
Carrying the theme “UNIQUE,” the drawing competition saw enthusiastic participation from 55 talented contestants hailing from UNPRI’s Faculty of Languages and Communication (FBK) and Faculty of Health Sciences (FIK), alongside Universitas Negeri Medan’s (UNIMED) Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS). For two hours, participants poured their creativity, imagination, and unique interpretations of the theme into artworks using Faber-Castell colored pencils.
In this fiercely contested event, Katlyn Limada (FBK UNPRI) claimed the top spot, followed by Muhammad Nur Huda (FBS UNIMED) in 2nd place, and Haura Fathiinah Nst (FIK UNPRI) in 3rd place. Meanwhile, Honorable Mention titles (Juara Harapan 1 to 3) were awarded to Michelle Mulyadi, Sherin Puspita Putri Yoga, and Najla Rehiya Tarigan, respectively. All winners received prizes consisting of cash rewards, trophies, exclusive gift packages, and official certificates.
In her winning artwork, Katlyn utilized birds as a powerful representation of the “UNIQUE” theme. She explained that birds possess extraordinary distinctions in terms of historical background, environmental adaptability, and their close coexistence with human life.
This stellar achievement serves as a testament to the creativity, talent, and vast potential of UNPRI students in the visual arts, while highlighting the importance of participating in competitive platforms to hone skills and gain invaluable experience. UNPRI continually encourages its students to produce innovative works and achieve excellence on both national and international stages.
