Hary Tanoesoedibjo Gives Public Lecture to Unpri Students
Thursday, February 6, 2014, CEO of MNC Group and also Chairman of Persatuan Indonesia (PERINDO), Hary Tanoesoedibjo, gave a public lecture on "Growing Entrepreneurial Spirit Among Students" to students of Universitas Prima Indonesia (Unpri) in the Hall of Royal Prima Hospital, on Jalan Ayahanda, Medan.
Present at the event were the Advisor of Unpri Foundation, dr. I Nyoman Ehrich Lister, M.Kes, AIFM, Chairman of Unpri Daily Executive Board (BPH), Tommy Leonard, S.H., M.Kn., Rector of Unpri, Prof. dr. Djakobus Tarigan, AAI, DAAK, Vice Rector I Unpri, Prof. Dr. drg. Monang Panjaitan, M.S., M.A., Vice Rector II Unpri, Ermi Girsang, SKM, M.Kes, Dean of the Faculty of Economics Unpri, Cut Fitri Rostina, S.E., M.M., Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Economics Unpri, Hendry, S.E., M.M., Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Medicine Unpri, dr. Ali Napiah Nasution, and Head of Public Relations Unpri, Ramli J. Marpaung, S.H., M.M.
Before giving a public lecture, Hary Tanoesoedibjo introduced himself and gave an explanation about his business at MNC Group, after which he continued with a lecture on entrepreneurship. The public lecture was also attended by hundreds of Unpri students.
On that occasion, Hary Tanoesoedibjo stated that he supports "Entrepreneurship" because this sector is a national potential and need. "By developing this entrepreneurial sector, it can directly revive the Indonesian economy," he said.
According to the leader of the MNC Group, for a successful business, the main goal in every step to start it must have a clear focus. A clear goal accompanied by high discipline will help everyone who wants to reap success.
The key to success shared by Hary in developing his business, including being an entrepreneur who focuses on the goals he wants to achieve. Every clear focus will lead someone to the door of success, if in every business they experience failure, it is natural because success cannot be obtained easily, let alone instantly.
Success requires a long process, and we must persevere. Great success will start from small success, so in every effort try to accept every success even though it is not much. It is precisely the small things that will bring extraordinary success.
To the young generation, especially Unpri students, he reminded them to work hard from now on to achieve success in the future. "As the young generation, we must dare to step forward, don't worry about competition," he said passionately.
Hary Tanoesoedibjo also said that entrepreneurs can create economic activities and open up jobs in a country. Therefore, one of the supporters of a nation's progress is the growth of entrepreneurs among the community.
According to this white-skinned man, there are many ways that can be used, one of which is becoming an entrepreneur. "Indonesia needs quality youth to advance the nation," he said.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics Unpri, Cut Fitri Rostina, S.E., M.M., in her speech said that this public lecture was implemented through cooperation between the Faculty of Economics Unpri and PERINDO.
According to Cut Fitri, the theme raised in this public lecture is considered important, considering the high unemployment rate, while job opportunities are increasingly minimal. "Therefore, this theme will be increasingly important, when we are faced with the reality of the free trade era, then we must consciously prepare ourselves seriously and be able to create our own jobs," she said.
This entrepreneurship public lecture, according to Cut Fitri, is material that reveals the business world in the field of education and other business worlds, which is a means for students to develop an entrepreneurial spirit.
