2014 NATIONAL EXAM TRY OUT
5,275 High School/Vocational High School Students in Medan City Participate in Try Out at Unpri Campus
Saturday, January 25, 2014, as many as 5,275 high school/vocational high school students throughout Medan City, participated in the Try Out (practice questions) at the Universitas Prima Indonesia (Unpri) Campus. The Try Out was held at the Unpri Campus on Jalan Sekip, Jalan Danau Singkarak, and Jalan Belanga, Medan.
The implementation of the Try Out which seemed very popular with students, was opened directly by the Advisor of Universitas Prima Indonesia, dr. I Nyoman Ehrich Lister, M.Kes, AIFM. Also present on that occasion were the Head of the Unpri Daily Executive Board (BPH) Tommy Leonard, S.H., M.Kn., Unpri Rector, Prof. dr. Djakobus Tarigan, AAI, DAAK, Unpri Vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. drg Monang Panjaitan, M.S., M.A., Unpri Vice Rector II, Ermi Girsang, SKM, M.Kes, Unpri Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Economics, Hendry, S.E., M.M., Unpri Dean of the Faculty of Technology and Computer Science, Abdi Dharma, S.Kom.
From the journalists' monitoring at the exam location, the students looked serious in working on the Try Out questions. The students looked calm and enthusiastic.
Unpri Advisor, dr. I Nyoman Ehrich Lister, M.Kes, AIFM, represented by the Head of BPH Unpri, Tommy Leonard, S.H., M.Kn., in his speech said that the implementation of Try Out or trial work on questions prepared by the committee has many benefits, especially for each student.
Tommy appealed to students who took the Try Out, to use the try out event to find out and reveal the weaknesses and deficiencies that exist in each of them.
"The method is, work on the Try Out questions only by relying on your own abilities, do not ask for help from others, or cheat by cheating. Why? Because if you can't answer, then the teacher will know which lesson materials have not been understood and need to be practiced again. On the other hand, if you cover up your weaknesses in the Try Out by asking for help from friends and it turns out to be true, then the teacher and the school will no longer know that you can't because according to the answers you gave the answers were correct, for example like that", said Tommy.
Tommy motivated the students that they should be more active in asking and discussing Try Out questions that they have not mastered, without leaving out other knowledge that they have mastered. Hopefully this can help and lead you all to successfully pass the National Examination and graduate.
According to the Head of the Try Out Committee, Drs. Hilman Haidir, M.Pd., through the Secretary of the Try Out Committee, Santy Siregar, SKM, M.Kes., accompanied by the Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Economics, Unpri, Hendry, S.E., M.M., the purpose of holding the National Examination Try Out (UN) for high school/vocational high school students is to train participants in facing the upcoming UN, and to measure the extent to which participants are prepared to face the UN, so that they are better prepared to face the real exam and can be used as a reference for learning UN material.
Santy also said that this UN Try Out is also intended to promote the Unpri campus. "For students who excel, they will be given scholarships and free registration at the Unpri campus," said Santy Siregar after reviewing the room at the exam location.
Santy hopes that the participants who take the Try Out will choose Unpri as a place to study at a higher education level. "With this UN Try Out, we also hope that the participants will be more trained in working on questions ahead of the UN. "Because, the questions given in this Try Out, have been adjusted to the level of difficulty of the upcoming National Exam questions," he said.
He said, this National Exam Try Out received a great response from vocational school/high school students throughout Medan City. This is proven by the large number of participants.
Santy said, a similar activity will be carried out by Unpri. To organize this activity, his party conducted socialization to schools.
As is known, there are currently 42 Try Out participants in Medan City, including SMA Amir Hamzah, SMA Kalam Kudus, SMA Kartika I, SMA St. Thomas-I, SMA Budi Murni, SMA Angkasa Lanud I, SMK Nur Cahaya, SMK Amir Hamzah, SMA Methodist I, SMA Immanuel, SMA Hang Tuah, SMA Nasrani, SMA Harapan Mandiri, SMA UISU, SMA Global, SMK Harapan Mandiri, SMA Darussalam, SMA Raksana, SMK Raksana, State Senior High School 3, Mardi Lestari Senior High School, Darmawangsa Senior High School, and State Senior High School 4.
