Chairman of the North Sumatra Regional Research Council Gives Public Lecture at UNPRI

Chairman of the Regional Research Council of North Sumatra Province (North Sumatra)  Prof. Dr. Ir. Harmein Nasution, MSIE gave a public lecture at Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) Jalan Ayahanda Medan.

In a public lecture themed 'The Role of Research and Technology Innovation in Realizing Competitive National Industrial Development' In this regard, the Professor of Industrial Engineering at the University of North Sumatra (USU) said that industrial engineering is a branch of engineering science that deals with the development, improvement, implementation, and evaluation of integral systems of people, knowledge, equipment, energy, materials, and processes.< /p>

The public lecture was attended by the Head of BPH UNPRI Dr. Tommy Leonard SH MKn, UNPRI Chancellor Prof. dr. Djakobus Tarigan AAI DAAK, Dean of the Faculty of Technology & Computer Science Abdi Dharma SKom MKom, Head of Study Program Industrial Engineering UNPRI Anita Christine Sembiring, ST, MT. lecturers and students.

Harmein Nasution explains the role of an industrial engineering alumni in the world of work, and invites lecturers to collaborate with students to continue conducting research and create the latest innovations in the field industrial engineering.

Meanwhile, Head of the UNPRI Industrial Engineering Study Program Anita Christine Sembiring ST MT said, this public lecture is a routine activity held by the UNPRI Industrial Engineering Study Program.

"I hope this activity can continue, so that Industrial Engineering students understand what industrial engineering is and what the role of an industrial engineering alumni is in the development of the national industry," said Anita Christine Sembiring.

In the question and answer session, the participants seemed enthusiastic about asking questions. Suwandy, an 8th semester student of the Industrial Engineering Study Program at UNPRI, seemed enthusiastic in asking how research and technological innovation can win the industrial market.

In a separate place, the Head of BPH UNPRI, Dr. Tommy Leonard SH MKn, told reporters , Tuesday (11/4) hopes that the public lecture will be useful for students of the Industrial Engineering Study Program at UNPRI.

To produce graduates who have knowledge and are able to analyze, and are able to design industrial manufacturing systems and services, said this young doctor, his party always brings in experts from outside.

"UNPRI must produce graduates who master the basics of industrial engineering who are able to play an active role in the development of industrial technology, both in national and international levels," said this education figure convincingly.

In this case, Tommy also said, UNPRI graduates must produce scientific works that have advantages in the field of industrial engineering, which can be relied on.(
