FKIP UNPRI STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN PEACE CAMPAIGN THROUGH ARTS

Students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Prima Indonesia University (FKIP UNPRI) who are members of the Bintang KOMPAK organization (Community of Campus Children's Writers) ) under the guidance of Dani Sukma Agus Setiawan, S.Pd., M.Pd as a lecturer in the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program was invited by the North Sumatra Peace Ambassador to participate in the "Peace Campaign Through Art". The activity was held at Merdeka Square, Sunday, October 27, 2019.

The Peace Through Art Campaign was also attended by various student press institutions and literary communities throughout Medan City, namely LPM Dinamika, LPM Lentera, LPM Suara USU, LPM Neraca , KORSAS Unimed, DIKSI and Fokus UMSU.

In this activity, Bintang KOMPAK performed a dramatization of the poem Jante Arkidam by Ajib Rosidi, solo vocals and comedy poetry rampak.

In addition to holding art performances and literature, the activity was also accompanied by a collection of signatures to become a pioneer of peace as an effort to prevent hoaxes, hate speech and issues of division. In the midst of the lively activity, Deputy Governor of North Sumatra Musa Rajekshah also took the time to visit and carve his signature on the peace agreement memorandum. He welcomed the activities carried out, "Good, hopefully the activities are successful."

Fajar A.M. Dalimunthe, as the coordinator of the North Sumatra Province Cyber ​​Peace Ambassadors, said that this activity was the second to be carried out, after previously being held in 2018. He also explained that in 2019 he invited more communities to collaborate in order to be more effective and efficient in accommodating the creativity of young people. calling for the importance of peace.

"We hope that this collaboration will not stop here, because the cooperation that has been carried out so far is very necessary in creating a peace campaign in real life, then we can implement it well and attractively in cyberspace. , especially on social media, as one of the contents to prevent hoaxes, hate speech, and issues of division."

In a separate place, Dian Syahfitri, S.S., M.Hum as Dean of FKIP UNPRI welcomed the involvement of FKIP students positively UNPRI in activities. He also emphasized that amidst the rampant hoaxes and issues of division, students must be the antidote in various ways, one of which is through literature.

"As the dean, I welcome it positively. Peace campaigns must indeed be encouraged, including through literature. Because literature can be a bridge connecting academics with society. Through literature, hoaxes and issues of division can be countered. Students as part of academics play an important role in doing so in accordance with the demands of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education."
