Achieving Achievements Amidst the Pandemic, UNPRI Students Win 2021 PON Medals

(10/17/2021) The largest sporting event in Indonesia, PON XX Papua 2021, was officially closed by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Lucas Enebe Stadium. A total of 34 provinces participated in this four-year event with the main objective won medals in 15 sports that were competed. North Sumatra became one of the provinces that ranked in the top 15 and UNPRI students also participated in winning medals at this national sports event.

Gurbinder Singh, a student from the Faculty of Technology and UNPRI Computer Science won a Gold medal in the Lokapala E-Sport category. Then there was also Harris Horatius from the Faculty of Law, Master of Notary Study Program who succeeded in winning a gold medal in the Wushu sport category of Men's Nan Gun at PON XX Papua 2021. No less enthusiastic, Wilbert Sanjaya as a student of the Faculty of Psychology UNPRI also won a bronze medal in the Wushu sport category Jian Shu & Qiang Shu at PON XX Papua 2021.

The success of the Athletes from UNPRI is also inseparable from the full support of the Chancellor UNPRI Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes. The Chancellor advised to always compete in a sporting manner and become a winner in order to bring honor to the name of the Province and UNPRI. The Chancellor also highly appreciated all Athletes from UNPRI who participated in PON XX Papua 2021. Although it was held In the midst of a pandemic, Athletes from UNPRI remain persistent in achieving and can also focus on academics to understand the material.
