Medan, May 18, 2026 — Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) participated in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) titled "Discussion on Accelerating the Implementation of RPL Sp.KKLP with Education Providers" on Monday (May 18, 2026). This strategic meeting was held at the Grand Meeting Room of UNPRI Main Campus, Jalan Sampul No. 4, Medan City. The forum brought together Primary Care Family Medicine Specialist (Sp.KKLP) education providers with the collegium and council to discuss the technicalities of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). During the forum, UNPRI reaffirmed its role as the first private university in Indonesia to implement the RPL pathway for this specialist program.
The event was attended by the Rector of UNPRI, Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes., the Director of Royal Prima Hospital, Dr. dr. Wienaldi, M.K.M., Dr. dr. Dhanasari Vidiawati, M.Sc.CM-FM., Sp.KKLP., Subsp.COPC and team from the Sp.KKLP Collegium, as well as the Chairperson of the Indonesian Health Council, Drg. Aryanti Anaya, M.K.M. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Nursalam, BSN., M.Nurs. (Hons.) presented on competency enhancement through structured training and delivered a Guest Lecture for clinicians.
The primary focus of the discussion was accelerating specialist availability through the RPL pathway, specifically designed for general practitioners with more than 10 years of clinical practice. This pathway allows extensive clinical experience to be recognized as academic credit, thereby accelerating the process of obtaining a specialist degree without compromising quality standards. UNPRI, represented by Vice Rector IV and Head of the Sp.KKLP Program, Dr. dr. Ali Napiah Nasution, M.K.T., M.K.M., Sp.KKLP(K)., Subsp.COPC, expressed readiness to facilitate senior general practitioners in this program.
The RPL pathway at UNPRI serves as a strategic platform in facilitating student talent and medical practitioners to become competent and high-quality specialists. Through this initiative, UNPRI contributes directly to increasing the availability of primary care specialists across Indonesia, aligning with the university's spirit of continuing to innovate to support national health system reinforcement.
