FKKGIK UNPRI Community Service Socialization of E-SISMAL at Labuhanbatu Health Center
Malaria Surveillance Management with E-SISMAL Application
Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences (FKKGIK) Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) Master of Public Health (MKM) Study Program held a community service Socialization of Electronic Application Management of Malaria Surveillance Information System (E-Sismal) to health workers at the Labuhanbatu Health Office.
The activity was opened by the Head of P2P Division of the Labuhanbatu Regency Health Office, Rahmat Hasibuan, SKM in the Labuhanbatu Regency Health Office Meeting Room, attended by the Head of the Labuhanbatu Regency Health Office, H. Kamal Ilham, SKM, MM, functional officials of the Health Office, malaria program managers from health centers throughout Labuhanbatu Regency and resource person Mastiur Nainggolan, SKM and Lamhot Horasmantua Sigiro from the Labuhanbatu District Health Office and a supervisor from FKKGIK UNPRI dr. Sri Lestari Ramadhani Nasution, M.K.M, M. Biomed.
Head of P2P Division of the Labuhanbatu District Health Office Rahmat Hasibuan explained that the purpose of the activity was part of the implementation of the Tridharma values of Higher Education and one form of support in improving the ability and knowledge of malaria officers in managing malaria surveillance using the e-SISMAL application.
"For information, the Malaria Information System (SISMAL) is a malaria information system created by the Ministry of Health. E-SISMAL is a malaria patient reporting system managed by Health Centers and Hospitals and then reported to the Ministry of Health every month through the website sismal.malaria.id," he said.
Electronic management of malaria data is part of the management of information resources on malaria that includes all malaria data control activities accurately, up-to-date, safely and available to users/providers, government, stakeholders and the community.
He said, the malaria disease data recording and recording system includes routine and specific findings. The data source is the result of passive case detection (PCD) and active case detection (ACD) activities.
Furthermore, the Head of Health Office H. Kamal Ilham stated that this activity is very beneficial for improving and the ability of malaria officers at health centers in reporting malaria sufferers in the work areas of their respective health centers so that from the data obtained, steps, actions and policies can be taken to overcome malaria problems.
He continued, every malaria report using e-Sismal will be monitored validly and also guarantee the accuracy of malaria data. The number of malaria cases (API) in Labuhanbatu Regency in 2021 reached 0.42 per 1000 population.
Head of the Master of Public Health Study Program, FKKGIK UNPRI, Prof. Dr. Ermi Girsang M.Kes, Biomed, AIFO added that this community service activity was attended by 30 students and 6 supervising lecturers.
