UNPRI Faculty of Law Holds Seminar
Good Governance for Business Law Development
In order to ensure the development of a company or business, business law is needed as a regulatory regulator, and this aspect cannot be separated from the sustainability of good governance.
This background is the basis for the Legal Seminar with the theme "Good Governance for Business Law Development" which was held by the Faculty of Law, UNPRI on Monday, October 17, 2022.
This Legal Seminar was held offline at the UNPRI Main Campus Hall with speakers Prof. Henk Addink from Universiteit Utrecht, Netherlands and Awaludin Marwan, Ph.D, founder and CEO of Heylaw. Through this legal seminar, it is hoped that students can increase their knowledge regarding good governance in the development of business law from the presentation of the two experts in their fields.
Prof. Henk Addink is of the opinion that good governance is connected to three pillars that are the key to the formation of a modern state, namely the rule of law, democracy, and good governance. Talking about the rule of law, he continued, it can be interpreted as the existence of the principle of legality. In practice, this is related to the existence of a judicial institution that is tasked with supervising the legislative and executive institutions if there are differences between the two.
Then, the pillar of democracy means the existence of freedom and equality in community life. The realization of these two pillars guarantees the occurrence of clean governance so as to support the further development of business law.
His presentation on the need for clean governance to ensure the development of business law is in line with UNPRI's Vision to "Become an Excellent University in the Field of Innovative and Adaptive Socio-Techno Preneurship.
This law seminar was attended by thousands of students, all deans from 5 faculties and 20 UNPRI study programs and the academic community.
In addition to being a speaker in a law seminar that is open to the public, Prof. Henk Addink also gave a lecture in the UNPRI Masters and Doctor of Law Expert Lecture entitled "Principles of Good Governance with Multidisciplinary Approaches" on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 and became an examiner in the results seminar exam, proposal seminar and final examination of the UNPRI Bachelor, Masters and Doctor of Law study programs.
