Universitas Prima Indonesia and Taiwan Education Center Indonesia Establish Cooperation
Partnership regarding Study and Internship in Taiwan
On Friday, December 2, 2022, Universitas Prima Indonesia and Taiwan Education Center (TEC) Indonesia collaborated by holding a Scholarship Seminar "Study & Internship in Taiwan in 2023" which was held at the main campus of UNPRI, Jalan Sampul 4 Medan.
The seminar invited speakers from TEC Manager, Tirta Amerta Effendi and TEC Assistant Manager, Putri Kartika Dewi to explain the mechanisms and types of scholarships offered to Indonesian students from undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels. .
The event began with remarks from the Vice Rector III of UNPRI, Said Rizal, SHi, MA. In his remarks, Said said that UNPRI is a university that is developing very rapidly and already has 8 Faculties with 40 Study Programs. In the 2022/2023 academic year, Said explained that UNPRI received 16,000 new students, thus showing proud progress. Regarding the development of UNPRI in the future, Said proposed that UNPRI can collaborate related to international networking, specifically the availability of international scholarships for UNPRI students.
All deans and representatives of vice deans from eight Faculties at UNPRI attended the seminar, along with representatives from the rectorate, heads of bureaus and the academic community.
The event continued with the handover of souvenirs from TEC to UNPRI represented by WR III and continued with a group photo session between TEC and representatives of the rectorate and deans at UNPRI.
Through the presentation at this seminar, Tirta conveyed that TEC is an institution under the auspices of the Ministry of Education (MOE) of Taiwan, specifically the Taipei Economic and Trade Office (TETO) with the central building in Jakarta, Indonesia. TEC itself has 3 branch offices at the State University of Jakarta, Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta, and Airlangga University, Surabaya. TEC is a non-profit organization that promotes various programs for studying in Taiwan, both programs from the Taiwan MOE and universities specifically.
Lectures and internships in Taiwan, said Putri, offer various advantages, including academic quality that is equivalent to Western countries at a more affordable price, bilingual programs, namely presentation of materials in English and/or Mandarin, and the fact that Taiwan is a pioneer in the field of technology that offers many job opportunities and opportunities to take further studies.
Furthermore, the choice of Taiwan as a destination to continue studying is due to the relatively affordable cost of living, universities that provide dormitories for students and cross-cultural experiences.
"In the 2022 survey, there were 13,805 Indonesian students studying in Taiwan," said Putri
Through his presentation, Tirta explained several scholarship opportunities for undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students offered by the Taiwan Ministry of Education and universities. Some of these programs include: Taiwan Scholarship MOE program with English and/or Mandarin as the language of instruction; Huayu Enrichment Scholarship, 6 months of direct Mandarin language learning in Taiwan; Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP), a short-term professional internship program and also the ICDF (International Cooperation and Development Fund) program for Masters and Doctoral students.
The presentation session was continued with a question and answer session for UNPRI students and lecturers to find out more information regarding scholarships to study and internship in Taiwan.
After a photo session with all seminar participants, TEC continued the series of events through a meeting with the Rector of UNPRI, Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting M.Kes and the founder of UNPRI, Dr. dr. I Nyoman E.L MKes AIFM,
