APINDO Establishes Cooperation with UNPRI
Support North Sumatra UMKM to Move Up a Class
The Indonesian Employers' Association (APINDO) of North Sumatra signed an MoU with Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) as an initial step to improve Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in North Sumatra, Tuesday (11/28/2023). This collaboration invites academics to further increase the spirit of entrepreneurship through various activities and programs that will run together with APINDO.
The Head of the DPP APINDO North Sumatra, Haposan Siallagan, said that this collaboration is one of APINDO's work programs, namely empowering MSMEs. "At UNPRI itself, there are many scientists so that later we can involve them in encouraging our MSMEs to move up a class," he told Tribun Medan, Tuesday (11/28/2023). He said that through this, APINDO wants to produce students who become MSME actors or young entrepreneurs. "So these students, once they graduate, no longer focus on becoming civil servants and employees, but on creating entrepreneurs," he said.
With the hope that this collaboration can be established well, and good collaboration too, so that it can produce 1 million MSMEs to move up a class from North Sumatra. "The MSMEs that we hope will develop in every field, be it technology, management, management, and so on. Also help legalize products for beginner MSMEs," he explained.
Ali Napiah Nasution as Vice Chancellor for Cooperation accompanied by Abdi Dharma as Vice Chancellor for Academics and Information Systems UNPRI welcomed this collaboration, considering that it is still in line with the university's vision. "With the cooperation process with APINDO, we hope that it is in line with UNPRI's vision, namely creating sociopreneurship and entrepreneurship," he said. So that students are expected to be able to plunge into society by practicing their knowledge, not only themselves who are entrepreneurs but also inviting their surroundings. "From UNPRI, students who will be involved, based on long-term and short-term programs, both from the faculty of economics, also related to stunting which will involve students from the faculty of medicine," he concluded.
