UNPRI Secures Runner-Up Position in the MBA VOL IV 2026 Final After Intense Match
The Valuable Experience of SPARTAN UNPRI on the Second-Place Podium of MBA VOL IV 2026
The men's basketball team of Universitas Prima Indonesia, SPARTAN UNPRI, officially concluded their journey in the MBA VOL IV Inter-Campus Tournament as the second-place winners. In the final match held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the Medan Basketball Arena, Jalan Kapten Sumarsono, SPARTAN UNPRI had to concede to Universitas Eka Prasetya with a final score of 61–72.
This achievement was reached after the team, coached by Jenny, S.E., M.M., successfully defeated the University of Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) in the semifinals with a narrow score of 41–38. Although they settled for the runner-up position in the peak match, the performance shown by Captain Diantan Riovaldo and his teammates proved the Spartan's mental toughness at the highest level of student competition in North Sumatra.
"This achievement is a clear testament to UNPRI's commitment to facilitating the non-academic talents of students in the field of sports. This accomplishment aligns with the institution's efforts to support competitive youth while contributing to the achievement of SDGs 4 (Quality Education) and SDGs 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through the professional development of creativity and sports potential."
The success of reaching the final was witnessed directly by the management ranks, including Team Manager Farrell and the Vice Coordinator of UNPRI Creative (UC), Haposan Lumbantoruan, S.Pd., M.Psi. Intensive support from the Office of the Vice Rector III for Student Affairs became the key factor that kept the team competitive throughout the tournament until the final round.
