Collaboration between UNPRI and CIMB Niaga Presents Seminar “Your Journey Starts From You”

Medan – Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) in collaboration with Bank CIMB Niaga held a seminar “Your Journey Starts From You”, which was held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the Mini Hall of Universitas Prima Indonesia, Jln. Sampul No. 3 Medan.

Appearing as speakers, Andi as Preferred and Wealth Business Development Head of CIMB Niaga and M. Yoga Yudhistira as HR Partner Area Head of Sumatera and Indtim Bali Nusra.

This activity was attended by approximately 500 students from various faculties at UNPRI, and guided by Laila Ramadani as the moderator, a student of the Faculty of Law, UNPRI.

Andi and M.Yoga explained that this activity is a program that aims to motivate individuals to realize that success starts from themselves. This activity can include various activities designed to increase self-awareness, develop personal skills, and build self-confidence so that participants can begin their journey towards achieving their goals.

The two speakers presented various topics, such as Motivation and Inspiration Sessions, Self-Development, Goal Setting, Interaction and Networking, Action and Follow-up.

One of the important things in this activity is to emphasize real action. Participants are encouraged to create specific and realistic action plans that can be implemented immediately. In addition, there are follow-up or mentoring sessions to ensure participants continue to progress on their journey.

"We want to build self-awareness, increase self-confidence, inspire initiative and personal responsibility, develop leadership and decision-making skills, set clear and targeted goals, one of the main focuses is to help participants understand the importance of setting clear and measurable goals. By having a targeted plan, participants can easily track progress and make improvements if needed. Then encourage real action, encourage building networks and collaboration, form a positive and resilient mindset," said Andi.

Meanwhile, M. Yoga Yudhistira conveyed motivation and overcoming fear (motivation & overcoming fear). For that, according to him, internal motivation and how to overcome fear that often hinders steps towards change are very important. "Participants are invited to build motivation from within, identify sources of fear or doubt that can hinder development, techniques for overcoming fear by thinking positively, daring to get out of the comfort zone, and acting," he said.

M. Yoga also conveyed the importance of time management & priority (Time Management & Prioritization). "One of the keys to success is the ability to manage time and set priorities well. In this section, participants need to create an effective schedule to maximize productivity. The importance of setting priorities so that energy can be focused on the most important things, time management techniques such as the Eisenhower Matrix or Pomodoro Technique to increase focus," he added.

No less important is building a positive mindset. This material emphasizes the importance of having a mindset that supports self-growth. Some of the topics discussed include developing a growth mindset, namely the belief that abilities and intelligence can continue to be developed through effort and learning. Changing the way of looking at failure as part of the learning process. How to maintain a positive spirit amidst challenges.

Then real action and consistency (Taking Action & Consistency). After having self-awareness and clear goals, participants are invited to take real steps towards success.

Vice Rector III of UNPRI Dr. Said Rizal, S.H.I., MA said that this event is a real manifestation of UNPRI's commitment as an educational institution that not only focuses on academic improvement, but also on developing the character, skills, and motivation of students to become individuals who are ready to face the challenges of the world.

"Your Journey Starts From You" reminds us all that the journey to success begins with self-awareness and the willingness to continue to develop. You are the young generation who are the hope of the nation. Through this event, we hope that you can explore your potential, find a clear purpose in life, and start taking real steps to achieve your big dreams,” he said.

Dr. Said Rizal reminded us that this journey is not easy, of course there will be many obstacles and barriers that stand in the way. “However, I want to remind you that every great success starts from one small step, and that step starts from yourself. Never be afraid to dream, never hesitate to act, because your success is a reflection of the effort and dedication you put in,” he said.

According to him, Universitas Prima Indonesia is always ready to provide support, guide, and facilitate students in achieving their dreams. “Take advantage of every opportunity available, develop yourself through various positive activities, and keep trying to be the best version of yourself,” he said.

Meanwhile, Raselda Kamaruddin from the Accounting Study Program said that she was inspired and had an eye-opener. “I feel very inspired after attending the "Your Journey Starts From You" event. This activity opened my eyes to the importance of starting every journey from within myself, that every step towards success must begin with confidence and courage. The various motivational and training sessions provided during this event really motivated me to be more confident in setting life goals and dare to take real steps to achieve them,” she explained.

Raselda hopes that activities like this can continue to be held in the future, because they are very useful for raising motivation and enthusiasm for students. “This event gives us clear guidance on how to start the journey to success, as well as providing encouragement not to be afraid of failure,” she concluded.
