Lecturers of Electrical Engineering Study Program FAST UNPRI Provide Training on the Use of IoT Technology at SMKN 1 Jorlang Hataran SImalungun
A total of 15 Lecturers from the Electrical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Prima Indonesia (FAST UNPRI), conducted Community Service in the form of training on the use of the Internet of Things (IoT) for students in grades 10 and 11 of SMK N1 Jorlang Hataran Dolok Marlawan, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra.
The activity was divided into two sessions, where session 1 was for grade 10 and session 2 was for grade 11. The purpose of holding the activity was to make students more familiar with the development of internet of things (IoT) technology, so that it can be applied to transportation, smart homes, agricultural technology, industrial technology and hospital technology
A total of 15 FAST UNPRI lecturers took part in the community service activity, then 16 teachers and 150 students of SMKN1 Jorlanghataran attended. The activity was intended to provide a basic understanding of the use of Internet of Things technology, how it works which is connected to wifi and the applications created in the form of controlling lights remotely, room temperature detectors and fire detectors.
Rosmely Damanik, S.Pd. M.Si as the Principal of SMKN1 Jorlang Hataran, welcomed the training given by FAST UNPRI lecturers. "We are very happy and interested in the training activities that have been given by the FAST UNPRI lecturers to the students of the school, with this training, SMKN1 students are increasingly increasing their insight and knowledge of the use of internet of things (IoT) technology, both hardware and software used,
A number of students said they were happy with the activity, because they gained knowledge of the use of the internet of things (IoT) for Smart Home applications, Temperature detection applications, Fire detection applications. With this activity, there is increasing togetherness and sustainability in community service activities for the school
Teachers and students hope that cooperation will be improved in the future, between FAST UNPRI lecturers and SMKN 1 Jorlang Hataran Dolok Marlawan, Jorlang Hataran District, Simalungun Regency. (RED/MBB)
