KELOMPOK RISET DETEKSI RASA NYERI PADA BAYI

Kelompok Riset Deteksi Rasa Nyeri pada Bayi

PUI PT Pain Detection

OVERVIEW

This research group is focused on developing specialized techniques to detect and measure pain in infants using behavioral, physiological, and technological indicators. Unlike adults, infants cannot self-report pain, making it essential to create alternative diagnostic systems. The group applies an interdisciplinary approach—incorporating nursing science, pediatrics, psychology, and data analytics—to identify reliable markers of pain and translate them into practical tools for use in clinical and caregiving settings.

OBJECTIVES

To develop objective, sensitive, and clinically applicable methods for identifying and quantifying pain in infants, especially neonates, who cannot communicate their pain verbally.

Research Focus

Behavioral observation systems for neonatal pain assessment Facial expression and body movement analysis using computer vision Monitoring physiological responses such as heart rate variability and oxygen saturation Integration of sensor-based data with AI models Validation of infant pain scales in clinical environments
