UNPRI Welcomes Merdeka Student Exchange Program Students
Independent Student Exchange Program
Wednesday (1/12), Universitas Prima Indonesia welcomed the arrival of 36 Independent Student Exchange Program students at the UNPRI Main Campus Building located on Jalan Sampul. The event was attended by Vice Rector I, Vice Rector III, Vice Rector IV, All Faculty Deans, Co-PIC Program, Nusantara Module Lecturers and Independent Student Exchange Program students at Universitas Prima Indonesia. In his remarks, Abdi Dharma, S.Kom., M.Kom. as Vice Rector I and Coordinator of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka at UNPRI said that this program should have been attended by 52 students from various universities in Indonesia. However, due to differences in regulations related to PPKM during the pandemic, 16 students were unable to carry out the program offline.
"Later, PMM students at UNPRI will also carry out the Nusantara Module program which will study various cultures in Medan City and North Sumatra Province together with the Nusantara Module Lecturers," said Vice Rector I of UNPRI. The Independent Student Exchange Program at UNPRI will run for 3 months until January 20, 2022 and will receive a Study Result Card from Universitas Prima Indonesia. In his remarks, Said Rizal, S.HI., M.A. as Vice Rector III of UNPRI stated that students of the Independent Student Exchange Program at UNPRI can take advantage of this moment to become more independent and get to know various cultures in North Sumatra Province. "The PMM-DN students who are here are certainly the best choices that have been selected by the committee, so it is time to take advantage of direct learning with the community properly and optimally," said the Vice Chancellor of UNPRI.
The welcoming ceremony also featured traditional dances from the province of North Sumatra, namely the Persembahan Dance typical of Malay culture and the Tor-Tor Dance typical of Batak Toba culture which gave an extraordinary impression to the students. As a representative of PMM_DN students at UNPRI, Aditya Akbar Pramudia from the University of Jember gave a speech with the message that all PMM_DN students who were present were grateful for the welcome given by Universitas Prima Indonesia and of course changed the stigma about the people of North Sumatra as harsh and firm, but it turned out to be very friendly and kind. Based on this impression, we will be happy to tell this in our hometown later," said Aditya.
The welcoming ceremony for students of the Independent Domestic Student Exchange Program took place interactively with an introduction to culture and a greeting session from the students. Afterwards, the students took a mini tour of the main campus building of Universitas Prima Indonesia.
