UNPRI Hosts Socialization and Practice of Adaptive UKBI for Higher Education Institutions
A Tangible Form of UNPRI's Commitment to Enhancing Indonesian Language Proficiency Standards and Academic Literacy in the Digital Era
Medan – Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) hosted the Socialization and Practice of the Adaptive Indonesian Language Proficiency Test (UKBI) for Higher Education, organized by the North Sumatra Province Language Center on March 10-11, 2026, at the UNPRI Campus Hall. This activity was attended by 30 participants consisting of deans, heads of study programs, and lecturers from various universities in North Sumatra.
The event was opened by the Head of the General Sub-division of the North Sumatra Language Center, Nofi Kristanto, S.H., who emphasized the importance of strengthening Indonesian language proficiency as part of the academic culture in higher education. "Adaptive UKBI is an important instrument to measure and improve Indonesian language skills among academics, which will ultimately impact the quality of learning and scientific communication in universities," he said.
On the first day, participants received a presentation from the Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at UNPRI, Dr. Dian Syahfitri, S.S., M.Hum., who delivered material on the best practices of Adaptive UKBI in higher education. The next material was delivered by Imran from the North Sumatra Language Center regarding the explanation of Adaptive UKBI and its registration and implementation mechanisms. This proves that UNPRI continues to innovate in facilitating the improvement of national language competence standards to produce competent and high-quality graduates.
Entering the second day, all participants took the Adaptive UKBI test as a form of direct practice from the material previously learned. The test is designed to measure participants' Indonesian language skills in various aspects, from listening and reading to writing and speaking. This activity is in line with UNPRI's Sociotechnopreneurship vision in strengthening academic culture in Indonesia.
