Make MBKM a Success: UNPRI Conducts Internal Socialization
Implementation of MKBM Internship at PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV
As real proof of Universitas Prima Indonesia's commitment to implementing all of the Ministry of Education and Culture's Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) programs, especially in the flagship Internship program, UNPRI held an internal socialization on Friday, March 24, 2023. The socialization of "Implementation of MBKM IV Batch I Internship in 2023" was carried out online using the zoom meeting platform.
The internal socialization was attended by UNPRI's Vice Chancellor 1 for Academic Affairs, Abdi Dharma, S.Kom, M.Kom, Acting Official (Pjs) for the Center for Academic Studies, Friska Ria Sitorus, S.Pd, M.Ed., P.hD, representatives of the Dean, Head of Study Program and Secretary of Study Program at Universitas Prima Indonesia.
In his remarks, WR 1 UNPRI expressed his admiration for the enthusiasm of UNPRI students in participating in the internship program at PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) IV, North Sumatra. This is evidenced by the number of 200 students who attended the zoom meeting socialization. Abdi Dharma believes that UNPRI students are a superior, resilient young generation, and are fully committed to implementing the MBKM program, especially internships. He added that PTPN is a large company spread across Indonesia, and getting the opportunity to do an internship at PTPN IV is an extraordinary experience. The internship program at PTPN IV is a continuation program and for 2023 this is the first batch.
Permendikbud No. 3 of 2022 concerning National Standards for Higher Education states the points that must be fulfilled by universities, one of which is the right of students to gain experience outside the campus. Having direct experience in the world of work is expected to be able to provide decent jobs for students after graduation.
During the internship process, students will be trained ethically, morally, and most importantly, social ethics, interactions in the context of the business world and industry. Furthermore, after the internship process is completed and students receive an industrial internship certificate, it is possible that they will be recruited as permanent employees.
PTPN IV opens a quota of 159 students for the internship program, with the following quota distribution: engineering (20 students), agrotechnology (75), law (27), accounting (27), and 10 quotas from management/accounting, information systems, graphic design, animal husbandry, mechanical engineering and agricultural engineering.
The facilities that students will get during the internship include; transportation from the PTPN IV office to the internship location, mentors according to their fields, pocket money and BPJS health.
The socialization of this internship program is intended to attract students' interest while providing a brief understanding of the implementation of the program. The enthusiasm of UNPRI students in participating in this socialization is expected to be the first step for students to prepare themselves with direct experience before entering the world of work.
