Chancellor of Prima Indonesia University, Prof Dr, Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes according to the recommendation of the senate council Universitas Prima Indonesia inaugurated Dr. dr. Aziza Ghanie Icksan, Sp. Rad (K) TR (Chair of the Indonesian Radiology College) as an honorary professor (professor) / Honoris Causa Universitas Prima Indonesia in the field of health. The event took place in the Main Hall of the Universitas Prima Campus Indonesia (UNPRI), Jalan Sampul No. 3, Medan City.
The inauguration ceremony of the honorary professor was attended directly by the Academic Advisor of UNPRI, Lieutenant General TNI (Ret.) Prof. Dr. dr. Terawan, Agus Putranto , Sp. Rad (K) Interventional Radiology, Rector of Sriwijaya University (UNSRI), Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Anis Saggaff, MsCE. Then, the Professors from various institutions, namely: Prof. Dr.dr. Farhat M. Ked (ORL-HNS), Sp.THT-BKL Subp Onk, FICS ; Prof. Dr. dr Ristaniah Sp. Rad (K) : Prof. dr. Elisna Syahruddin Ph.D, Sp.P(K); Prof. Dr. Ali Ghanie, SPPD,K-KV, Finasim; Prof. Dr. dr. Noni Soeroso Sp.P (K).

Suhartina Darmadi, M.K.M, Chairperson of the Prima Indonesia Higher Education Foundation, Julim, S.K.M., M.K.M, Chancellor of UNPRI, Chancellor of UNPRI, Prof. Dr., Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes, All Vice Chancellors in UNPRI, Director of Royal Prima Hospital, Dr.dr. .Wienaldi, M.K.M, Director of Prima Dental and Oral Hospital Medan, Dr. drg. Florenly, MHSM., M.P.H, Director of Prima Vision Hospital, dr. M. Farid Syahrian, M.K.M, All Deans, Heads of Study Programs, Professors, and all Heads of Bureaus/Institutions of Universitas Prima Indonesia.
The reading of the Decree of the Chancellor of Universitas Prima Indonesia regarding the Awarding of Honorary Professor Titles was carried out by the Vice Chancellor I for Academic, Abdi Dharma, S.Kom, M.Kom and continued with the Presentation of the Honorary Professorship Certificate by the Chancellor of Universitas Prima Indonesia.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Chrismis stated that the awarding of this honorary professorship was the first times pinned by UNPRI. This is related to the function of Higher Education as a pillar of national development and to create superior, skilled, competitive and highly competitive graduates, adequate human resources are needed, especially teaching staff with doctoral or professor status.
"Currently, UNPRI has manages 43 study programs in 8 faculties, higher education at UNPRI is complete from diploma, undergraduate, professional, specialist, master and doctoral levels. In 2023, UNPRI was entrusted to open two specialist study programs, primary care family and radiology. UNPRI has received "excellent accreditation in doctoral programs in health sciences, education and the medical profession," said the Chancellor of UNPRI.
The existence of study programs must be supported by adequate human resources, the awarding of this honorary professor title increases the number of professors in UNPRI to 9 professors.UNPRI is fully committed to developing functional doctoral positions, especially those who are already Senior Lecturers (LK) to become professors, in accordance with the Credit Point Assessment standards and the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education.
The conferment of the honorary title of Honoris Causa professor is an award for the extraordinary competence shown by a figure. The title of Professor (H.C) has gone through various stages, proposals from the faculty, rectorate to the university senate meeting.
UNPRI Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting M.Kes hopes that the awarding of the honorary professorship to Prof. (H.C.UNPRI) Dr. Aziza Ghanie Icksan Sp.Rad(K)TR will have positive impacts on the development and strengthening of academics at UNPRI both at national and international levels.
"I believe that his extraordinary experience will bring UNPRI to further progress, especially in the development of specialist radiology medical science," he said.
"Prof. (H.C. UNPRI) Dr. dr. Aziza Ghanie Icksan, Sp. Rad (K) TR is a very experienced figure in the field of radiology. He has done a lot of service for Private Universities (PTS) such as UNPRI to obtain government permission to open specialist study programs, especially radiology. This is important considering the fulfillment of radiology doctors in Indonesia is still minimal. In the future, the role of Prof. (H.C. UNPRI) Dr. dr. Aziza is expected to help develop il"mu radiology specialist in Indonesia, especially in UNPRI, in line with UNPRI's goal to develop and disseminate scientific tasks," said Prof. Dr. Chrismis ending his speech.
The inaugural speech of Prof. (H.C. UNPRI) Dr. dr. Aziza was entitled "The Role of Thorax Imaging in Helping Reduce Morbidity and Mortality of Pulmonary Tuberculosis and Lung Cancer in Indonesia." Currently, Indonesia ranks second in the world for TB sufferers, below India, although reported cases are still under-reported and under-diagnosed. Although TB is an ancient disease, until now TB is still a health emergency.
In addition to the problem of TB, lung cancer is also the largest cancer death (20%) in the world, the risk is mainly caused by smoking and obesity. TB and Lung Cancer often occur together, between 1.64 to 6 times more likely to occur if the sufferer already has one of these diseases.
Problems that still occur in Indonesia until Currently, as explained by Prof. (H.C. UNPRI) Dr. dr. Aziza is the uneven distribution of health facilities (faskes) throughout Indonesia, the lack of specialist doctors in Indonesia and the lack of multidisciplinary treatment of this disease.
At the end of his inaugural speech, he emphasized how clinicians and radiology specialists must be able to use all diagnostic modalities to diagnose TB or provide theories, and thorax radiology imaging is the imaging used for TB screening with quite high sensitivity.
"Hopefully all TB and lung cancer problems in Indonesia can be overcome by adding radiology facilities, adding the number of radiology specialists, from specialists who handle TB and lung cancer, and the formation of cooperation between related professions / MDD TB and lung cancer in all hospitals in Indonesia,"
