Explore Research Collaboration Opportunities
Prima Indonesia University Visits BRIN Genomics Laboratory
The Genomics Laboratory of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) received a visit from Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) Medan represented by Edy Fachrial and Harmileni, on Friday (21/7). The visit was conducted to see firsthand the research facilities and discuss exploring opportunities for research collaboration between Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) and related Research Organizations at BRIN, especially in the field of Molecular Biology. The visit was welcomed and guided directly by Yefrizal and Tika Anggraini as the Manager and Management Team of the BRIN Genomics Lab.
Edy Fachrial, Head of the UNPRI Research and Community Service Institute said, "So the background of our visit to BRIN is actually to see firsthand the facilities in the Genomics Laboratory. Maybe we can adapt some labs from the management side, from the facilities side, to our campus."
"Second, of course the most important thing is the independent campus program (MBKM) where students have the opportunity to do internships. Who knows, from our campus, Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) Medan, we can send students to do internships here. The third is collaboration," continued Edy.
Edy also revealed that, currently the demands for lecturers to produce scientific publications are very high. Of course this cannot be done alone, so there are several important elements. The first is human resources and the second is facilities. "It is hoped that with this visit we can see the facilities owned by BRIN, because the facilities owned by BRIN are already very good. We just need to move the collaboration between campuses, lecturers and researchers at BRIN by utilizing the labs here. Especially in the fields of genomics and health," said Edy.
"Our hope for the future is that this genomics lab will be at the forefront in solving problems in the fields of health, food, and so on and become the best partner for campuses. Especially for us, distant campuses, the collaboration can be more intense and the response faster," said Edy in closing.
