Royal Klinik Cemara Officially Established: Indonesia’s Best Medical Campus, UNPRI, Presents a Premier Educational Facility for Family Medicine Specialist Doctors in Primary Care
A Concrete Manifestation of UNPRI’s Commitment to Improving the Quality of Medical Education and Public Health Services
UNPRI, Medan – As a socio-technopreneurship-oriented and leading university in Medan and nationally, Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) continues to strengthen its role in medical education and community service through the inauguration of Royal Klinik Cemara on Thursday (October 16, 2025). Located in the elite area of Jalan Boulevard Southern Lake Residence R3 1–5, Komplek Cemara Asri, Desa Sampali, Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, the inauguration ceremony was conducted by the Regent of Deli Serdang, dr. H. Asri Ludin Tambunan, M.Ked (PD), Sp.PD-KGEH, FINASIM, marked by a ribbon-cutting and plaque signing.
The event, attended by prominent figures, marked a historic milestone for UNPRI in presenting a modern healthcare facility that also serves as a clinical education center. Distinguished guests included the Founder of Prima Group, Prof. Dr. dr. I Nyoman Ehrich Lister, M.Kes, AIFM, Sp.K.K.L.P.; Independent Commissioner of PT Royal Prima Tbk, Dr. dr. Suhartina Darmadi, MKM; President Director of PT Royal Prima Tbk, Prof. Dr. Tommy Leonard, S.H., MKn.; Chair of the Medical Committee of RSU Royal Prima, Prof. Dr. dr. Farhat, M.Ked (ORL-HNS), Sp.THT-KL(K); Director of PT Pilar Medika Nusantara, Dr. dr. Wienaldi, MKM, MQM, Sp.KKLP; and the Rector of UNPRI, Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes., AIFO-K., represented by Vice Rector IV, Dr. dr. Ali Napiah Nasution, MKT, MRM, Sp.K.K.L.P(K). Also in attendance were the Dean of FKKGIK, Prof. Dr. dr. H. Gusbakti Rusip, M.Sc., Sp.KKLP(K)., PKK., AIFM., AIFO-K.; religious leader Buya Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amiruddin, MS.; as well as community leaders and representatives from healthcare institutions such as BPJS Deli Serdang and the Supervisory Board of RSU Royal Prima.
According to Dr. dr. Ali Napiah Nasution, MKT, MKM, Sp.K.K.L.P(K)., the opening of Royal Klinik Cemara is an integral part of Universitas Prima Indonesia’s outstanding education system. “Royal Klinik Cemara serves as an educational facility for students of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences (FKKGIK) as well as a clinical training center for residents in the Specialist Medical Education Program (PPDS) for Family Medicine Specialists in Primary Care (KKLP). Here, they learn to apply comprehensive, continuous, and family-oriented primary healthcare services,” he explained. He emphasized that this collaboration between academia and practical healthcare reflects UNPRI’s vision as an excellent and impactful socio-technopreneurship university.
The Specialist Medical Education Program – Family Medicine in Primary Care (PPDS-KKLP) at UNPRI is an advanced education program designed to prepare doctors to become specialists with holistic competencies. Graduates are equipped to manage patients from biological, psychological, social, and cultural aspects. As the first private university in North Sumatra officially licensed to conduct the Sp.KKLP program, UNPRI has earned an “Excellent” accreditation for its Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences (FKKGIK). Since its establishment in December 2022, this program has become a pioneer in supporting the transformation of national healthcare services by producing professional medical practitioners who serve as leaders, communicators, managers, and educators on the front lines of healthcare.
In addition to PPDS-KKLP, there are six other specialist programs (PPDS) at UNPRI, solidifying its position as the private university (PTS) with the highest number of PPDS programs in Indonesia.
