"The phenomenon of increasingly widespread connectivity, from corporate networks to households and individuals, poses new challenges related to the protection of information and systems," he said. The speed of technological evolution, said Chrismis, brings great benefits, but also opens the door to increasingly sophisticated cybersecurity threats. The increasing use of information technology in all levels of society provides a significant boost to economic growth and social progress. "However, along with this progress, a series of cybersecurity risks have also emerged that require serious attention. Cyber attacks can range from personal data theft, website hacking, to attacks on a country's critical infrastructure," he said.
