UNPRI, Langkat – Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) once again affirmed its commitment as a superior and globally competitive higher education institution by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Langkat Regency Government.
This historic event was held at the Langkat Regent's Office on Wednesday (10/22/2025) as a strategic step to strengthen the synergy between the academic world and regional government in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education (education, research, and community service), which is oriented towards sustainability and tangible impact.
On this occasion, UNPRI was represented by the Vice Rector IV for Cooperation, Dr. dr. Ali Napiah Nasution, M.K.T., M.K.M., Sp.K.K.L.P.(K), representing the Rector of UNPRI, Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes., AIFO-K. He was accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Elvira Fitriyani Pakpahan, S.HI., M.Hum., and other faculty leaders. All study programs within UNPRI, from Bachelor, Master, to Doctoral levels, have now been accredited as “Superior” by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), confirming the quality of the university's academic and governance capabilities.
The Langkat Regency Government was represented directly by the Regent of Langkat, H. Syah Afandin, S.H., accompanied by the Assistant for General Administration and several department heads, including the Head of the Education Agency, Head of the Health Agency, Head of the Communication and Informatics Agency, Head of the Community and Village Empowerment Agency, Head of the Environmental Agency, and Head of the Government Section. The attendance of the complete line-up demonstrated the seriousness of the Langkat Regency Government in strengthening strategic partnerships with higher education institutions to improve the quality of human resources and optimize public services.
In his speech, the Regent of Langkat, H. Syah Afandin, S.H., expressed his high appreciation and gratitude to Universitas Prima Indonesia for its contribution and commitment to regional development.
“This cooperation is a concrete step that brings the world of education together with the real needs of the government and society. We believe that synergy with UNPRI will accelerate Langkat's transformation towards more innovative, competitive, and sustainable development,” he stated, which was welcomed by enthusiastic applause from the attendees.
Meanwhile, UNPRI Vice Rector IV, Dr. dr. Ali Napiah Nasution, M.K.T., M.K.M., Sp.K.K.L.P.(K), asserted that the signing of this MoU is not just a ceremony but the beginning of an ongoing collaboration.
“UNPRI is ready to play an active role through research, training, and community service activities based on local needs. We want to ensure the university's presence provides a real contribution to the community and local government officials,” he revealed.
He also added that this cross-sectoral cooperation is a concrete manifestation of UNPRI's vision as a Socio-Technopreneurship campus, which is oriented towards solutions and sustainability.
The event concluded with a joint photo session and a warm, casual dialogue. Participants considered the collaboration between UNPRI and the Langkat Regency Government a progressive step that brings academic knowledge together with government practice. Moving forward, both parties are committed to following up on this MoU through concrete programs that provide direct benefits to the community.
