2564 New Students of Universitas Prima Indonesia Attend Introduction to Study Program
Rector: Universitas Prima Indonesia is a Multi-Ethnic University.
Rector of Universitas Prima Indonesia (Unpri) Prof. dr. Djacobus Tarigan, AAI, DAAK said Unpri is a multi-ethnic university with the slogan "The Best Choice" which has been Unpri's identity.
"Students will carry out the learning process with various programs, media, and all learning facilities on this campus," said Prof. dr. Djacobus Tarigan, AAI, DAAK at the opening of the PPS (Introduction to Study Programs) which was attended by 2564 new students from ten faculties at Campus I Jalan Belanga Ayahanda Medan and Campus 3 on Jalan Danau Singkarak Medan, Saturday (22/9).
Present at the PPS event were the Supervisor, dr. I Nyoman Ehrich Lister, M.kes, AIFM, Head of BPH Yayasan Tommy Leonard, SH, Mkn, Vice Rector I Unpri Prof. Dr. Drg. Monang Panjaitan.
On the same occasion, the rector expressed his gratitude to all parties who had prepared and were involved in the PPS activities. To the new students, the rector also congratulated them on joining the big family of the Unpri institution. "We congratulate you on your success in surpassing the competition to study at this campus. Moreover, the students have also achieved initial success in entering Unpri through the selection of new student admissions," he said enthusiastically.

He said, because new students are campus residents who are not yet familiar with academic and student life, Unpri held PPS for new students of the 2012 intake.
Through this program, he said, new students will be introduced to the higher education system and the paradigm of higher education in the future. "One of the factors that determines a person's success in studying, living in society, working in a new place is the person's willingness to recognize and understand their new environment," he said.
Based on this idea, he said, this PPS activity was carried out. Because, the benefits and objectives of PPS are very clear, namely to help new Unpri students, so that they have the ability to adapt to Unpri campus life with all its contents and environment, both academic and non-academic fields. With this ability to adapt, students will have the readiness to follow all learning and teaching programs which in the end, will make their studies smooth and successful.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Committee Hendry, SE said that the acceptance of new Unpri students for the 2012/2013 batch for the Diploma and Bachelor programs went well. The number of new students who have been accepted in 10 faculties at Unpri is 2564.
Hendry said that new students who registered and were accepted at Unpri came from various high schools and vocational schools from Sumatra Island, Java Island, and from abroad. "Students also come from various tribes, races and religions. This further displays the characteristics of Unpri which emphasizes a multi-ethnic campus," he said.P10
