Universitas Prima Indonesia Provides Scholarships to Orphans and the Underprivileged
Supervisor, "This scholarship is a form of concern and implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education of Universitas Prima Indonesia for underprivileged children".
Supervisor, dr. I Nyoman Ehrich Lister, M.kes, AIFM, said that the provision of scholarships to orphans and underprivileged children is a form of concern and implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education of Unpri.
"We must be grateful to God Almighty, because Unpri has been able to provide scholarships to our underprivileged brothers and sisters every year," said Dr. I. Nyoman Ehrich Lister, M.kes, AIFM in front of 15 children who received the scholarship yesterday at the Jalan Belanga Medan campus.
Present at the event were the Head of BPH Yayasan Tommy Leonard, SH, Mkn, Vice Rector I FKG Unpri Prof. Dr. Drg. Monang Panjaitan, Vice Rector II Ermi Girsang, SKM MKes, the deans and vice deans and the entire Unpri academic community.
For this year, said Dr. I. Nyoman, the provision of scholarships has been increased, namely specifically given to Non-Health Faculties such as the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Technology and Computer Science, and Faculty of Psychology. "This year, we are providing additional scholarships for 15 people. "Hopefully, in the future we can increase this scholarship. Therefore, it is expected that the children in question can make the best use of this opportunity," he said again.
On the same occasion, Dr. I. Nyoman stated that he was pleased to hear the report that out of 15 people who received the scholarship, 10 took the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Therefore, it is expected that the children receiving the scholarship can make the best use of the opportunity. "The children receiving the scholarship are expected to be role models on campus, both in academics, discipline, and especially role models in the field of ethics or manners. Many people who are students, but their manners are very low, their speech is rude, careless, and not worth listening to," he said.
Previously, the report from the Head of the Committee Drs. H. Hilman Haidir, MPd. which was read by Santy Deasy Siregar, SKM MKes (secretary) conveyed, regarding the results of the selection of new Unpri students through the scholarship route. It was stated, that the selection was held on Wednesday (15/9) at the Unpri Campus, Jalan Sekip Medan. The number of participants who took part in the selection was 24 people with details of participants coming from 14 orphanages and 10 from the underprivileged community. Then from the results of the exams that were carried out, 15 people were declared to have passed.
"Of the 15 people, 10 people entered the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, 4 people chose the Accounting Study Program, and 1 person chose the Faculty of Law," he said.
On that occasion, the Supervisor, dr. I Nyoman Ehrich Lister, M.kes, AIFM, immediately handed over scholarships to the children.
