Surge in New Industrial Engineering Students at UNPRI: Academic Year 2025/2026 Marks the Rise of a Socio-Technopreneurship and Excellent University in Sumatra
Rising Public Trust Drives Growth of UNPRI Industrial Engineering Students
UNPRI, Medan — The Bachelor of Industrial Engineering Study Program under the Faculty of Science and Technology (FAST) at Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) has recorded a significant surge in new student enrollment for the 2025/2026 Academic Year. Amidst tight competition during the New Student Admission (PMB) period, a total of 112 new students officially registered, reflecting growing public trust in UNPRI’s reputation as a leading university with a socio-technopreneurial vision in North Sumatra. This increase stands as evidence of the hard work and dedication of the entire academic community—from university leadership, academic and administrative staff, to the service and marketing teams—in creating a high-quality and memorable campus experience for prospective students.
The Rector of Universitas Prima Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes., AIFO-K., expressed appreciation for the synergy and dedication of all campus elements. “The key to this improvement lies in ensuring that the experience felt by new students aligns with what they hear and expect. This alignment fosters a sense of belonging and pride toward the university. Moving forward, UNPRI will continue to strengthen public trust through academic excellence and superior service,” said the Rector.
The surge in new students not only reflects an increase in quantity but also in quality. The Industrial Engineering Program at UNPRI offers a modern learning system equipped with high-tech practice laboratories, research facilities, and extensive industrial partnerships at local, national, and international levels. Students also receive a Diploma Supplement (SKPI) and professional competency certificates from UNPRI’s own Professional Certification Institute (LSP Prima)—an added value rarely found in other private universities in North Sumatra—equipping graduates with the readiness to compete with peers from both private and public universities upon earning their Bachelor of Engineering (S.T.) degree.
Moreover, Industrial Engineering students at UNPRI have extensive opportunities to undertake internships across various university-owned facilities, including Royal Prima General Hospital Medan, Royal Prima Marelan Hospital, UNPRI Tebing Tinggi Hospital, and the newly inaugurated Royal Cemara Clinic. UNPRI’s extensive network of healthcare facilities—the largest owned by any university in Indonesia—strengthens interdisciplinary collaboration and provides engineering students with real-world learning experiences in industrial efficiency, systems management, and automation. “Since its establishment in 2005, we have remained committed to delivering education that stays relevant to the evolution of modern industries. Through the implementation of the Outcome Based Education (OBE) curriculum, we aim to produce graduates who are active, creative, independent, and possess a socio-technopreneurial mindset grounded in information technology,” said Dr. Anita Christine Sembiring, S.T., M.T., Head of the Industrial Engineering Study Program at UNPRI.
The Bachelor of Industrial Engineering Program at UNPRI is one of seven flagship study programs under the Faculty of Science and Technology (FAST), alongside Electrical Engineering, Informatics Engineering, Information Systems, Visual Communication Design, Architecture, and Civil Engineering. With a “Very Good” accreditation rating, this program is designed to equip students with expertise in systems analysis, production management, ergonomics, and industrial process design—skills that meet the demands of modern industries and global digital transformation.
