FKK UNPRI Public Lecture with Prof. Nursalam: Equipping 1,200 Students with Patient Safety and Clinical Quality Strategies

Medan, May 18, 2026 — The Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery (FKK) at Universitas Prima Indonesia successfully hosted a distinguished Public Lecture featuring National Nursing Expert and Chairperson of the Indonesian Nursing Collegium, Prof. Dr. Nursalam, BSN., M.Nurs. (Hons.). Held at the UNPRI Main Hall, Jalan Sampul No. 3, Medan, the event was enthusiastically attended by 1,200 students and faculty members across various programs.
In the era of global health transformation, patient safety and clinical service quality are the primary pillars of healthcare. This lecture thoroughly explored clinical competence reinforcement, the application of clinical judgment, and the urgency of Evidence-Based Practice. Prof. Nursalam highlighted the implementation of Law No. 17 of 2023 regarding Health and the implications of Constitutional Court Decision No. 111/2026 on the authority of collegiums in overseeing professional practice standards.
Beyond ethico-legal aspects, participants were trained in tactical methods to sharpen clinical reasoning and critical thinking for the early detection of Adverse Events (KTD). Integrating the latest research into nursing care protocols (Evidence-Based Nursing) was emphasized to minimize medical errors. As an excellently accredited university, UNPRI continues to innovate by aligning its Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum with the latest macro-regulatory dynamics.
This interactive session involved students from Undergraduate Nursing, Undergraduate Midwifery, Nurse Professional Education, Midwife Professional Education, and Master of Nursing programs. This initiative reflects the institution's commitment to facilitating student talent to become competent and high-quality healthcare providers.
