The Existence of Generation Z in Preserving Local Wisdom Values ​​in the Era of Disruption 4.0

The Faculty of Law, Universitas Prima Indonesia, held another national seminar in 20219, Tuesday (11/16), at the Main Hall of the Universitas Prima Indonesia Main Campus, Jalan Sampul Medan. This event was held offline by implementing strict health protocols.

The seminar was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Elvira Fitriyani Pakpahan, S.HI., M.Hum. In her remarks, Dr. Elvira said that Information and Communication Technology in the era of disruption 4.0 is developing very rapidly so that it not only brings positive impacts but also negative impacts. He added that universities as centers of knowledge are required to continue to study issues that develop in society, especially in maintaining the entity of the nation by maintaining local wisdom values.

The national seminar held by the UNPRI Faculty of Law raised the theme "The Existence of Generation Z in Preserving Local Wisdom Values ​​in the Era of Disruption 4.0" which presented 3 (three) speakers, the first Prof. Ade Saptomo, S.H., M.Si who is a Professor at Pancasila University, while the second speaker is Drs. Agus Suriyono who is the Head of the Medan City Tourism Office, while the third speaker is IPTU Viktor Richard P. Pasaribu, SH who is the PANIT 2 SUBDIT DIDRESKRIMSUS Polda SUMUT.

Prof. Ade in his presentation explained that the development of information and telecommunications technology must be in line with the cultural values ​​that have become the identity of the Indonesian nation and must be accessible to the lower classes, while Drs. Agus in his presentation explained about the use of technology to develop business products related to the digital economy. Although the name is digital economy, it does not only talk about economic issues but also social issues while in the last presentation by IPTU Viktor explained that the formation of the ITE Law aims to maintain Indonesia's digital space so that it is clean, healthy, ethical and can be used productively.

This national seminar was attended by more than 500 seminar participants from students. With this event, it is hoped that students will be able to understand that current technological developments can erode cultural and social values ​​and for that, more knowledge is needed to be able to maintain national cultural values ​​as a national entity.
