Female Students of UNPRI, a National Socio-Technopreneurship Private University, Win CHAMPION and 3RD PLACE at the 3X3 Achilles BRIMO 2025 North Sumatra Tournament
The impressive performance of UNPRI’s female athletes solidifies the university as a rising powerhouse in regional 3x3 basketball competition.
UNPRI, Medan - The best national private campus with an excellent socio-technopreneurship identity, Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI), once again achieved a proud accomplishment through its women's basketball team, composed of students from the faculties of economics, law, and psychology, successfully bringing home two titles at once in the “3X3 Achilles BRIMO 2025” competition at the North Sumatra level.
This prestigious inter-campus and inter-club competition featured a fierce yet sportsmanlike atmosphere, supported by many parties such as Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) as the main sponsor, the All-Indonesia Basketball Association (PERBASI) North Sumatra, Achilles, Achilles Sport, play.fiba3x3, 3XC, and other sponsors: Palmanco, Bolu Meranti, Esa, Mono Creative, SixStreet, and Hilande Koffie.
The competition, held from November 21–23, 2025, at Achilles Sport on Jalan Sunggal No. 267, Tanjung Rejo Village, Medan Sunggal District, was attended by dozens of participants from various campuses and basketball communities in Medan City. The 3X3 (read three-on-three) format demands solid teamwork, strategic creativity, and speed in both offense and defense. In this competition, UNPRI fielded two teams, UNPRI Lavender and UNPRI Jasmine, both of which performed exceptionally, ultimately securing the titles of CHAMPION and 3RD PLACE.
Both UNPRI teams demonstrated mature, disciplined, and characterful play quality, allowing them to stand out among many experienced participants.
The CHAMPION title was won by the UNPRI Lavender team, comprised of four tough female students from the Bachelor of Management Study Program at the UNPRI Faculty of Economics: Agnes Miranda Chandra, Michelle Tay, Naomi Clara Tamba, and Karen Naomi Latuperisa. Meanwhile, the UNPRI Jasmine team, reinforced by Jennifer Louis, Tiffely Tannisa, Keisa, and Keiko Natasha Latuperisa, also from the Bachelor of Management Study Program at the UNPRI Faculty of Economics, maintained stable performance from the preliminary rounds to ultimately secure the 3RD PLACE. Both teams, through hard work, discipline, and great teamwork, managed to defeat their opponents with fast, accurate, and determined play.
The 3X3 Achilles BRIMO 2025 Championship is an important platform for students from various campuses and clubs across North Sumatra to hone technical skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense, as well as non-technical skills like concentration, mental resilience, and the ability to read the game. Requiring strong stamina and physique during competition, with a half-court setting and shorter game duration, the 3X3 format demands players think quickly and maximize every opportunity within limited time.
In addition to focusing on playing skills, the 3X3 Achilles BRIMO 2025 Championship also provides educational value for young athletes through character building, sportsmanship, and the ability to work under pressure. The dynamic and competitive match atmosphere makes this event not just a competition but also a space for growth for cross-campus students. UNPRI, with its UNPRI Creative unit that fosters and accommodates all non-academic and entrepreneur skills and activities of students, serves as a means for self-development and achievement in various fields, not only sports but also arts and culture.
And every achievement gained by the students is proof that non-academic activities at UNPRI remain an important part of student self-development. This achievement is a historic milestone for UNPRI because it reaffirms the campus's commitment to supporting excellence in sports.
“Our success in winning CHAMPION and 3RD PLACE is the result of the team's hard work and full support from many parties, especially the campus. We hope this achievement inspires other students to continue training, developing their interests, and bringing greater recognition to UNPRI at the regional, national, and even international levels,” said Agnes, a 7th-semester student from the Bachelor of Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics.
