Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) launched the Off-Campus Study Program Campus (PSDKU) in Pekanbaru with a grand launching event attended by the Head of the Department Riau Province Education, Kamsol, representing the Governor of Riau. The event was held on Monday, July 10, 2023 and is expected to provide a significant contribution to the development of higher education in various regions in Indonesia, especially in Pekanbaru.
Present on that occasion were the Chairman of the Riau Provincial DPRD Yulisman S.Si, MM, Dr. Lukman ST MHum, Director of Institutions of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, Technology and Higher Education, Head of LLDikti Region I Prof. Syaiful Anwar Matondang MA, Ph.D, Head of LLDikti Region X Afdalisma SH, MPd, Head of APTISI Region X-B Prof Dr H Syafrinaldi SH, MCL, Head of MKA LAMR Datuk H R Marjohan Yusuf, Owner of Mayang Nature Tourism Park Drs Riyono Gede Trisoko MM, Academic Advisor UNPRI Prof Dr dr Farhat M.Ked, Sp .THT-KL (K), President Director of Prima Vision Medan Eye Hospital, Dr. M Farid Syarian M.K.M.
In his remarks, the Head of the Riau Provincial Education Office, Kamsol, conveyed his congratulations on the grand launching of the PSDKU Pekanbaru campus and hoped that UNPRI can develop and progress in supporting the success of the nation's children through education. "Through the launch of the PSDKU Pekanbaru campus, it is hoped that we can encourage the success of the young generation who want to learn and gain knowledge to improve Human Resources (HR) in Riau, especially in Pekanbaru," he said.
< p>Kamsol also explained about the improvement of scholarship programs for education in Riau Province. "The Riau Provincial Government provides S1, S2, S3 scholarships, including achievement scholarships, state service scholarships, bidikmisi scholarships, and remote children's community scholarships. This is done to improve education high, and I am happy to say that this basic program has been running 100% and has succeeded in realizing the 9-year compulsory education cumulatively," he added.
In addition, Kamsol also emphasized that graduates of junior high schools, senior high schools, vocational schools, and similar in Riau Province has more than 9,000 students, providing many opportunities for the younger generation to continue their education to college.
Rector of Universitas Prima Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes, explained that UNPRI is a private university centered in Medan, North Sumatra. Currently, UNPRI has 8 faculties with 44 study programs on its main campus in Medan and 4 study programs on the PSDKU campus in Pekanbaru.
"With the existence of the Off-Campus Study Program (PSDKU) of Universitas Prima Indonesia in Pekanbaru, we hope to improve the quality of education to support the improvement of Human Resources (HR) in higher education in various regions in Indonesia. , especially in Pekanbaru," said Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes.
Head of LLDikti Region I Prof. Drs. Saiful Anwar Matondang MA. PhD added that UNPRI has succeeded in expanding its wings by opening the PSDKU Campus in Pekanbaru after successfully running higher education management in Medan. The proof is, UNPRI is the campus with the most students, the most lecturers and the most professors around 12 people. He hopes that in the future UNPRI's accreditation rating will increase to Excellent accreditation.
In a separate place, UNPRI Founder Prof. Dr.dr. I Nyoman E. Lister., SpKKLP, M.Kes, AIFM expressed his appreciation for the support and attention of the Governor of Riau and his staff who are willing to accept the PSDKU UNPRI Pekanbaru Campus.
"We hope that the opening of the PSDKU UNPRI Pekanbaru Campus will further facilitate access for people in Riau Province to pursue higher education in order to accelerate the development of human resources and the community's economy," he said. The presence of PSDKU UNPRI in Pekanbaru increasingly complements the availability of educational services at the university level and becomes a partner for existing universities in Pekanbaru City.
The Launching of the Off-Campus Study Program (PSDKU) in Pekanbaru is a benchmark for UNPRI's efforts to increasing the reach of higher education and becoming an educational institution that is active in improving the quality of Human Resources (HR) in Indonesia.
