Strategic Synergy Between UNPRI and Sinarmas Agribusiness: Building Superior and Job-Ready Talent for the Palm Oil Industry

Medan – Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Sinarmas Agribusiness and Food during a Business Insight Talkshow at the UNPRI Main Campus on Tuesday (Feb 24, 2026). The event, attended by 500 students, marks a significant momentum in opening career opportunities and strengthening the collaboration between academia and the industry.
The event was attended by Vice Rector III Dr. Refi Ikhtiari, Ph.D, Vice Rector IV Dr. dr. Ali Napiah Nasution, Sp.KKLP(K), Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Dr. Suratni Afrianti, M.Si., along with deans, heads of study programs, and Dr. Bayu Pratomo, M.P. as the moderator. Representatives from Sinarmas included Lilianawati, Samuel Sagita from Development Program Recruitment, and Angkasa Wijaya as HR Business Partner of SOCIMAS.
Vice Rector IV, Dr. dr. Ali Napiah Nasution, expressed his appreciation for this partnership. "Universities are not only responsible for producing academically excellent graduates but also ensuring they possess the competence, character, and are job-ready to meet industry demands. PT Sinarmas, as a strategic partner, opens great opportunities for UNPRI students and alumni," he stated.
Lilianawati from Sinarmas noted that UNPRI is a large, continuously growing campus. "We hope this collaboration creates a strong link and match between the company and the education sector. This MoU is not limited to recruitment but extends to the three pillars of higher education: education, research, and community service," she emphasized.
The session continued with presentations by Samuel Sagita and Angkasa Wijaya on "Building a Career in the Palm Oil Industry," covering PT SMART Tbk’s profile, technology, and job-ready strategies for fresh graduates. They highlighted that the younger generation plays a vital role in driving plantation innovation. The Q&A session moderated by Dr. Bayu Pratomo was highly interactive, focusing on career paths and recruitment at Sinarmas Group.
