BPJS Kesehatan and UNPRI Synergy: Optimizing Health Services through the JKN Program
Empowering Academic Community as Agents of Change in the National Health Insurance Ecosystem
Medan, June 18, 2026 — Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) successfully hosted a public lecture themed “Synergy between BPJS Kesehatan and Academics in Optimizing JKN Health Services” on Wednesday (June 17, 2026) at the UNPRI Main Campus Hall. The lecture featured the President Director of BPJS Kesehatan, Mayjen TNI (Purn) Dr. dr. Prihati Pujowaskito, Sp.JK, FIHA, MMRS, FIMMA, as the keynote speaker for the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FKKG) community.
UNPRI Rector, Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, M.Kes., affirmed that BPJS Kesehatan is a cornerstone in achieving equitable and accessible healthcare. She highlighted that UNPRI’s partnership with BPJS Kesehatan, which has thrived since 2018, demonstrates the university’s dedication to national strategic programs. "UNPRI is committed to developing an integrated health ecosystem through our teaching hospitals to provide high-quality services to the public," the Rector stated.
During the lecture, the President Director of BPJS Kesehatan commended UNPRI’s strategic role. He emphasized that the academic community is crucial in strengthening the JKN program by enhancing service quality, promoting preventive efforts, and ensuring equitable access. "Students are not just participants; they are agents of change, educators, and contributors to evidence-based policy," he noted.
He further elaborated on the strategic link between universities as JKN stakeholders and the need to bridge scientific principles with public studies, particularly in strengthening primary healthcare facilities (FKTP) for quality and cost control.
