UNPRI Mandarin Student Represents Indonesia in the International Chinese Classics Recitation Competition
Showcasing Mastery of Language and Literature: Eylene Chandra Competes on the Global Stage
Medan, July 16, 2026 — Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) is proud to announce another international achievement. Eylene Chandra, a student from the Applied Bachelor’s Program in Mandarin for Business Communication and Professional, Faculty of Language and Communication (FBK), has been chosen to represent Indonesia in The 8th Chinese Classics Recitation Competition (第八届中华经典朗诵大赛) held in China.
This prestigious competition brings together participants from across the globe to recite classic Chinese literature, fostering cultural and linguistic exchange. Eylene successfully advanced to the provincial level (省赛) in China, a milestone that reflects her deep understanding of Mandarin language, classical literature, and her exceptional academic competence.
Throughout the preparation process, Eylene received intensive online mentoring from her supervisor, Mei Lisa, B.Ed., MTCSOL., who provided guidance, evaluations, and coaching to refine her recitation performance. This dedicated support was instrumental in achieving an authentic and compelling delivery.
Eylene’s participation serves as a testament to the quality of the Mandarin program at UNPRI. The study program goes beyond equipping students with Mandarin proficiency for business and professional needs; it emphasizes cultural, literary, and cross-cultural communication mastery, ensuring graduates are globally competitive.
