Boosting Faculty Research Capacity: UNPRI Holds Downstream Research and BIMA 2027 Proposal Coaching Clinic
Sharpening Faculty Proposal Quality To Win BIMA 2027 Research Grants.
Medan — Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI), through its Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM), successfully hosted the Socialization on Research Downstreaming and BIMA 2027 Research Proposal Writing Coaching Clinic on Friday (Oct 23, 2026). Held at the 22nd Floor Ballroom of the UNPRI Main Campus, the event drew 90 participants from across various faculties.
The event featured esteemed national expert Prof. Dr. Saryono, M.Sc. as the keynote speaker. This initiative forms part of UNPRI's continuous efforts to enhance faculty research capacities, particularly in preparing competitive research and community service proposals for the 2027 Fiscal Year funding under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek).
Commenting on this strategic event, UNPRI Vice Rector III for Research and Development (Risnovbang), Dr. Refi Ikhtiari, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., expressed strong appreciation and underscored the importance of reinforcing the research culture. "Through this socialization and coaching clinic, we aim to ensure that proposals drafted by our faculty members not only meet the administrative standards of BIMA 2027 funding but also possess a strong downstreaming orientation. Higher education research must be able to transform into tangible innovations that provide solutions for industry and society," he stated firmly.
Through this program, lecturers gained valuable opportunities to deepen their understanding of research downstreaming policies, while the coaching clinic served as an intensive mentoring space to refine proposal designs for better focus, systematic structure, and high-impact deliverables.
