UNPRI, Medan - Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) has been officially designated as a Center for the Development of Impactful Campuses in the Health and Community Sector, in line with the strategic policy of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemediktisaintek). This affirmation was conveyed directly by the Head of LLDIKTI Region I North Sumatra, Prof. Drs. Saiful Anwar Matondang, M.A., Ph.D., and appointed Dr. dr. Ali Napiah Nasution, M.K.T., M.K.M., Sp.K.K.L.P.(K) as Vice Rector IV of UNPRI as the impactful campus mentor in the health and community sector, at the UNPRI Period IV Graduation Ceremony, Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the Main Hall of the UNPRI Medan Superior Campus.
The "Impactful Campus" program is a new direction for national higher education, replacing the "Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM)" program. This program emphasizes the active role of universities in providing solutions to social, economic, and environmental challenges through quality education, applied research, and sustainable community service. "An impactful campus is one that transforms people's lives, not just produces graduates or publishes," said Prof. Saiful. He also added that today's universities must be beacons of light, uniting hopes, and driving real change in society. UNRPI, specifically the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences (FKKGIK), is ready to meet these challenges with the strength of six undergraduate study programs, five professional education programs, six master's study programs, seven specialist education programs, and one doctor of medicine study program. It also expands its reach through the Off-Campus Study Program (PSDKU) in Pekanbaru, Riau, which also offers undergraduate and professional medical education programs. UNPRI's strength is evident in its integrated health cluster, encompassing all required study programs under the auspices of the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Public Health, Pharmacy, and the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery. Available study programs range from Bachelor's, Professional, Master's, Specialist, and Doctoral levels.
What study programs are included in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences (FKKGIK)?
The Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences has been accredited with an "A" grade based on Decree of the LAM-PTKes Association No. 0005/LAM-PTKes/Akr.Bd/Sar/X/2020 dated October 2, 2020. Currently available study programs are undergraduate medical education, medical profession, undergraduate dental education, dental profession, undergraduate clinical pharmacy, pharmacist professional education, bachelor of public health, master of biomedical science, master of clinical medicine, master of tropical medicine, master of public health, master of dental science, specialist radiology, specialist primary care family medicine, specialist ophthalmology, specialist cardiology and blood vessel, specialist obstetrics and gynecology (obgyn), specialist anesthesia and intensive therapy, specialist internal medicine and doctor of medical science.
What study programs are available under the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery (FKK)?
There are undergraduate programs in nursing, professional nursing, bachelor of midwifery, professional midwifery, and master of nursing, all of which have been accredited "Very Good" by BAN-PT.
All programs are open to students from across Indonesia and abroad, with an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum, modern laboratory facilities, a proprietary teaching hospital, and international partnerships. UNPRI actively collaborates with leading international universities through student exchange programs, employment opportunities, seminars, visiting lectures, public lectures, collaborative research, and international internships in the health and medical fields.
UNPRI, which is currently preparing for international accreditation, is known as the private university with the most privately owned hospitals in Indonesia. It currently has six privately owned teaching hospitals: Royal Prima Ayahanda Hospital, Royal Prima Marelan Hospital, Royal Prima Jambi Hospital, Prima Vision Eye Hospital, Prima Oral and Dental Hospital, and UNPRI Tebing Tinggi Hospital.
